There's always a lot of chatter around the Miami show and context is important here but not easy to put in limited characters on twitter so let's look at what happened for the AEW show in Miami:

1) Tickets were released in a small quantity (1,200) due to covid restrictions.

2) Those tickets sold out relatively fast.

3) Weeks later, a big chunk of tickets were released in groups of 4. Most fans want to buy tickets in 1 or 2, not 4. These were released like this because of Covid restrictions set by the city if Miami.

4) Weeks later they were finally able to lift those covid restrictions and release every single ticket as a normal ticket (meaning you can buy 1 or 2 or whatever).

The reason this matters is because your biggest ticket moving days are the presale and the general public sale. All that said, this also speaks to Florida as a market right now for wrestling (and specifically AEW). If they hit 3K by the day of the show, they should be happy.

Do you think AEW would shift a notable number of extra tickets if they actually advertised point 4 on TV? Whenever I've seen them advertise on Dynamite it's just "We're coming to Miami, go to aewtix.com!". If they made a point of saying "Restrictions have been lifted and you can buy single and double tickets now" a few times, would that generate more interest?

Absolutely. Even if you have a talent from the area do a quick "MIAMI - we are coming to your area and you are the FIRST live show of this new tour..." it would help. Doesn't have to be long - 30 seconds would be enough. WWE has done this with regularity since announcing their tour. Also, I have no idea how much local advertising they are doing but it would be of big help if they aren't running ads during Raw/Smackdown and their own show. I am aware they usually hit the local markets hard (Cody is great in this role) the week of the show in the market and sell a few hundred from that point. But I'm sure they've thought of these ideas and have their reasons for doing it the way they do it.
