There are three types of spider people, and I think we make up all of them lol Jane - arachnaphobia JV - not scared, but will kill on sight Me - Cup and paper, release outside gently. Be free, lil' guy. As far as Who getting "Too woke", (god I hate that term) I wouldn't say that is necessarily the case - Who's always had a progressive appeal, heck, scifi as a whole has all the way back to Star Trek. No, what sets it a part is the tone. The last episode was fun, but also dramatic and grounded. This one feels like it was ripped from a Captain Planet episode, with the same amount of finesse that THAT handled.

I definitely don't have a problem with any 'wokeness' in the show. Doctor Who has always had progressive and political episodes (I'm thinking back to the 70s and a number of very overtly political stories in the 3rd Doctor's era, and definitely loads in the 7th Doctor's). The problem isn't that - it's just a complete lack of pace and feeling of threat. Arachnids is one of the worst examples. I never feel like any of the main cast are in any peril at all. But the absolute worst episode is still to come... The 2nd half of the season is marginally better than the first half for me and then I really like Season 12 as I've mentioned before.
