I understand the confusion- it's very wibbly wobbly. The wikipedia article on the bootstrap paradox is worth a read. The "words" weren't translated, they were symbols that represented the concepts that would be imprinted in the victims brain. The victim would then repeat those concepts as words (which the TARDIS would translate). I believe that was Peter Capaldi playing the theme in the opening. The sonic sunglasses may have seemed OP, but the Doctor would definitely have dropped the sonic screwdriver into the same spot to interface with the base. I also assumed it was the base itself that had the ability to project holograms, and he just used the sonic glasses to control it. It is the future, after all.

I’ve just seen the reaction and this is my view on it I think the second part is that he’s bassically doing the bootstrap paradox’s and there for he becomes part of events and then when he becomes a ghosts it’s like he’s not existed which is why he’s able to make himself not be a a ghost In the end. This is what I think he was trying to explain and link into the episode the bootstrap paradox perhaps when he confronted the fisher king this means becuse he came part of events that it never happened and the timeline probably through the hologram was the real doctor and that’s why it was able to move etc...
