Season 1 of Torchwood takes place between the DW S2 finale and S3 e11. Season 2 is between the S3 finale and the S4 finale. Season 3 is during the S4 specials and season 4 is between S5 and 6.

David Tennant is Scottish so he used his real accent in this episode. How I wish he hadn't used that English one the rest of the time

I would recommend Torchwood, but give it a few episodes, because the first few are not that great, then it gets better and better. Season 3 is TV gold and up there with the very best of Doctor Who. I also think it really adds to your enjoyment of Doctor Who to see both, because there are clues and references scattered between the two shows that tie-in to one another in a way, just enriching the enjoyment of both shows.
