He didn't quit! It's not an academy with dorms. What a lot of people overlook in this episode (because they can't get past bakugo's aggressive way of speaking) is that his pride and ego have taken a blow but it's started him thinking more realistically about improving himself. If anything, this episode was the first small sign of character development for Bakugo which is why it's titled "Bakugo's Start Line." Bakugo is actually one of my favorite characters.
