Ret Veitnam Vet,Col Dale Dye has a company that trains & provides technical advice to war movies. They did saving private Ryan and did an entire boot camp for the actors of Easy Co. He emphasize that point was to fullfil a debt & pay proper homage to the actual soldiers & their stories. The DVD has a Doc on the camp & Ron Livingston did his own behind the scenes video of it that's posted on YouTube. It's very interesting to see how much effort was put into teaching them & getting it right.

You may have seen already, Albert Blithe survived & fought again in Korea. The Easy Co soliders never saw him again during the war or at reunions & believed then & at the time the book & interviews we're done that he had in fact died of that wound. So it's true to their experience. Although, Hanks could edit the postscript once they knew. Moore & Malarkey's motorcycle ride & near collision was exactly as it happened on leave, as related in Don Mularkey's book. Cheers, fellas.
