Dawn of the Planet of the Apes YT Reaction

One thing a lot of people miss in these movies is the fact that the apes are smarter than humans. The apes on average have genius level IQs. Caesar is even more exceptional than that. It's something that always alluded to but not explicitly said. Probably because it brings the whole "equality" thing into question.

For me this one is miles better then Rise and I really like that film but man the drama, the music, the performances and the effects blows it out of the water. Caeser just gets better and better as a character, Andy Serkis is just so good! Gary Oldman's scene when he looks at the tablet always gives me chills, he doesn't say a word but know exactly what he's thinking, it's honestly my favorite scene in the movie, including his speech after the apes showed up, again in that one moment you know he's gone through his own personal tragedy without having to explain it to us, it comes off much more naturally. Koba is by far one of the best and underrated villians. He is terrifying! And you also kind of get where he's coming from, he doesn't just hate humans to hate them, he does have reason to and yes he goes WAY too far. It is so brutal when he throws Ash off the banister, he killed a teenager, Ash was Blue Eyes best friend. The way he was able to brainwash Blue Eyes and have him turn his back on his own father showed how evil Koba was. You may have not remembered but Rocket (Ash's father) was the ape in Rise who first was bullying Caeser and Caeser had to show his dominance to him and did and I love that he keeps that loyalty in this one. I love how Blue Eyes rarely talks but he expresses some much with his eyes, you know exactly what he's thinking and feeling. Another detail that a lot people don't realize is you actually saw Caeser wife/mate in Rise as well. She's in the scene when the two guys brings in those girls, one of the girls goes to a cage and calls them cute and one of the guys mentions it's a girl and her name, I can't remember her name though, I think it's Cornelia or something like that and a very underrated moment that doesn't get mentioned enough is her reaction after he gets shot, it is heartbreaking! I absolutely love the bond that forms between him and Malcolm, when I first saw it I was waiting for him to show his true colors, he was just too nice but he really was a genuinely good man. I honestly felt their bond even more then with James Franco but that's just me. I'm so excited for War!

Best one out of the 3 but war is pretty close to it.

This is my favorite of the current three in the series. The plot and character types almost remind me of a Shakespearean tragedy.
