Oh, you want to know when the I get it now moment with Akito will happen...oh boy haha Also, Yuki`s backstory is one of the saddest in Fruits Basket and this episode presents a lot of information about what happened to him but it also presents hints about other characters' backstories as well, like Kyo with the hat and his mom`s death (with the detail about if she was the mom of the rat that would not have happened etc), Akito snapping apparently suddenly, Ayame situation towards his brother and the fact Yuki`s mother basically sold him. There is a lot of information presented in this and as always, it is great seeing you both connecting some dots and creating some interesting theories haha

Don’t worry too terribly much about the “I get it now!” moment with Akito’s character; I won’t spoil anything, but you’ll have some pointers by the end of S2 (so next couple of episodes) and then S3 quickly delves into it and gives Akito a lot more limelight. You 100% won’t miss/overlook it. As for the show “rigging the game against Kyo”, I would beg to differ! I think this episode is the one that firmly cements Kyo as Tohru’s man, given that Yuki openly admits to viewing her “as a mother” and not “as a romantic interest”. Sure, he says that Tohru is “beloved”, but don’t most people have that sentiment towards their own mother?

How exactly is it spoiling something? That second paragraph is me restating something from an episode they just reacted to and giving my opinion on it. Personally, it’s been so long since I watched this series myself that I can’t even remember what the next episode is about or even what it’s titled. If I somehow spoiled something, that wasn’t my intention whatsoever.

I didn’t mean that you spoiled anything that happens in the next episode. It’s just connecting dots for them that they could have realized or discussed this episode but didn’t yet and will definitely discuss next episode. Even if you haven’t seen the series in a while you still have some future context while they don’t. You actually unintentionally used some exact dialogue phrasing from the next episode in your comment. Thanks for editing it out 👍🏻
