I wouldn't say Yamaguchi is really struggling with his serves. It's actually not shown in the anime, but in the manga, he's been trying to add more power to his serves so they're even harder to get. That's why they keep going out. So, I wouldn't say he's getting worse necessarily. Also, Asahi asked Ukai how he could improve at serving. He told him to clench and unclench his fists as part of his routine. He also told Asahi to ease into the game with regards to the power of his serves. Meaning don't try to hit with full power right away and instead focus more on speed and direction. Once he is into the flow of the match, he can start hitting with full power. We saw him practicing that in episode 6, I believe. And yes, Asahi did do something during that last spike. Like Kageyama said, it was more than just power. You'll find out about that later. Tanaka usually focuses on tooling the block (hitting the ball of the blockers hands so it goes out). Now, he's focusing more on techniques like trying to hit straights and cut shots. And of course getting better at jump serves. Noya has been trying to get better at overhand receives, which is something he really needs. Like Ukai said, float serves are really tricky, so trying to catch them underhanded is not a good idea despite how skilled Noya is at underhanded receives. Tsukkishima has been trying to get better at blocking people who can see the blocks really well. Like Hinata, Bokuto etc (there are more, but some may be spoilers, so I won't say much now). He has also been getting better as a more all round player. This is mainly thanks to the 1st year training camp where they played a lot of 2 on 2. So, in general, you could say he's become better at serving, setting and blocking. Diachi also has been trying to get better at spiking in general, I think. So that he can be more of a threat during the synchronized attacks. Kageyama has also really been working on his serves. In the lead up to the qualifiers, he was focusing solely on perfecting the new quick with Hinata so he didn't have much time to work on his serves. You already know about Hinata.
