Dude, this is one of my favorite movies. Still makes me cry, every time I watch it. The music hit so much, this movie has so many feels lol. Also, Rain is basically just a Paint horse. The Paints and Appaloosas were mainly used and popularized by the Native Americans. Palomino is just a color. Anyways, loved the reaction, you guys also made me laugh throughout this with all of the little comments like, "I mean listen James, he doesn't have hands," and "The mules really got done dirty," hahaha.

Absolute loved that you guys reacted to this movie! One of my absolute favorite childhood movies and horse films. When it comes to early Disney cgi the only mega CGI i can think of is Dinosaur and that came out in 2000. Oh, if you want the behind the scenes for Spirit check out the making of Spirit and the behind the scenes of the music. Spirit came out two years before Shrek 2 and because of how well detailed Spirit was that is why Donkey looks so good as a horse. Just looking back at old Disney movies or any animation with horses, Spirit was a HUGE leap in getting the design of the horse perfectly for animation. Best part of Get Off My Back is how realistic Spirit enjoys it, if you ever watch broncos or the bull riding you can tell some of the animals get a kick out of the event. Rain is a paint horse, the second most famous American Old West horse with Quarter horses winning at number one. Spirit’s mother is actually a palomino. Palomino used to be a breed but it has now been just a coat color. And Rain’s coat color is a chestnut overo, I think she also wasn’t born in the wild. It is possible Little Creek raised her from other horses, she could’ve been rescued from the cowboys. If you like the Paint Horse, might I recommend watching Hidalgo- another chestnut overo horse. It is action, adventure, and more adult scenarios. From people being killed by spikes and killed by animals. It also has Aragorn in it! Oh and someone mentioned War Horse already, but I’m going to add my recommendation for it as well. It is directed by Steven Spielberg, has great soundtrack/scenes/characters and the characters are all so deep in personality. Even the ones you only get for a few scenes, the way the characters are done you get a little heartbroken when you find out their fates.
