I love this movie, it's funny, I love the horror references, it's visually stunning and the music is phenomenal. When this came to the theater I saw it a few times just to listen to that music, it sounded amazing on the big screen. In my opinion and I know a lot with disagree with me but I think this one surpasses Coraline. Don't get me wrong I really like that film but I just like this one more and I find these characters a bit more likable, everyone kind of comes around like the sister and the dad, in Coraline there weren't as many, even she herself kind of annoyed me, she came off whiny to me most of the time. I think Norman is a better character and I like how he really connects with the dead more then real people, it's a different approach to the kid seeing dead people troupe. We don't even know how long he's been seeing them but it really doesn't matter because clearly it has been for a while, all the ghosts know him and he's just so use to them, he doesn't even try to hide it which I also really liked, He had a lot of bullies but even he pushed people away who did just want to be his friend like Neal. And man when you find out it's a little girl and was put to death it is disturbing and so dark! It also makes so much sense, of course it a bedtime story! And when she cries and talks about wanting her mommy it is so tragic. You can tell even though the zombies are now going forward they will always have that guilt, the final zombie doesn't smile or really looks at peace, more like he's just accepting his judgement. It is so good and I knew you guys would love it!
