Just want to add two points that you guys seem to have missed in this episode. 1) Light didnt kill sayu because he knows that only the Japanese police know about the abduction. If he kills her, then it's basically telling Near Kira is within the Japanese investigation team, which is only a few people. 2) Near doesnt fully trust Light. He told light he doesnt have mello's picture but he does (as shown earlier) . He has Mello's picture or name even because they literally lived in the Wammy house together until Mello left. He's just trading a bit info so that they can work with Light/investigate them more closely.

Small correction for you guys. Mello's name is pronounced with a short 'e' sound. So like the word Mellow, as in 'Don't harsh my mellow' XD Keep rockin', guys
