Ok I'm coming for you in the comments haha. I agree that some older films suffer from not the best action or special effects (eg: Star Wars) but definitely in the 90s they hold up far better than movies today because they relied heavily on practical effects. I don't know if you've seen 'Jurassic Park' but that's a prime example. Personally I much prefer older movies in general because they really took the time to flesh out characters/ story and that is what makes them timeless. I do get your point though James, no worries :)

I agree. Which is why then when u have these awesome characters and stories and then awesome action the movie just leaps off the screen

The Rock. Watch the rock haha one of my favorites with sean connery AND nicholas cage lol

Amber Burton

This one is my favorite as well! It’s got a great story and the comedy is awesome! I hope you guys check out more Sean Connery! You should also watch The Count of Monte Christo (the one with Jim Caviezel) if you haven’t seen it!

There is a tv series called the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles in the 1990s and it was reorganised into TV movies in the late 1990s under the name the Adventures of Young Indiana Jones. It covers a lot of historical events from 1912-1920, including WWI in Europe and fighting in Africa. Not the same calibre, but it still has that fun Indy discovery side of it.

Young Indiana Jones in the intro was played by River Phoenix, the older brother of Joaquin Phoenix and a very successful actor in his own right before he died in his early 20s.

Second World war is 1939-45. This is early 1938 before Germany forcibly 'unified' with Austria seem Austria was a still a thing then (it was again after WWII). The tropical swatiska was a fairly infamous symbol used to denote the German Afrika Korps under Erwin Rommel during the Second World War. The tank was a Mark VIII Tank replica vehicle built on an old excavator chassis namely a HYMAC 590 and was powered by two rover V8 engines. It was based on the real-world British-US Tank Mark VIII from WWI, which possessed no main top turret. And the country was Hatay, which is a southern province of Turkey nowadays. The final temple is the ancient city of Petra in Jordan, which is next to Israel. You can visit it.

Another strong recommendation for "The Rock (1996)",as stated above,it stars Sean Connery and Nicolas Cage,so this would be perfect timing after you just watched them both in Indiana and National Treasure,it also stars Ed Harris who you both liked in Apollo 13
