Here is next weeks UNEDITED REACTION. I feel like this episode is a bit slower but I think it is so well made. The thing that makes this show stand out, is the creators ability to make us interested in the human story as well as the horror aspect. Anyway, enough nerding out, enjoy!

just letting you know that haunting of hill house is actually 10 episodes long not 8 so this isn't actually the second to last episode lmao you probably realized that already but just in case you haven't!

Just to let y'all know there are three episodes after this one so they have a bit more time to wrap everything up. Edit:never mind someone else already said lol!

The ability of this show to put you INTO the mind of Nell and another character is so amazing. You are lost. You are questioning everything. Does this person have a mental illness? Is seeing Olivia a coping mechanism? Is this just a coincidence? Are these really ghosts or just things people are seeing in their minds due to grief? Is someone dreaming or awake? Is it a hallucination? We as the viewer no longer know the difference and that /puts us EXACTLY where the show wants us in order to understand the actions of characters in the next couple episodes. It's brilliant. Seriously this show is a masterpiece. I have a list in my head now that I've kinda catalogued incidents in the story into ghost/not ghost moments... like Mr. Smiley popping up at the end of the bed was clearly a dream Theo had. BNL a premonition until Nell dies and then she is a ghost that others can also see... When I originally watched this episode it felt inconsistent with the delineations I had in my head but now that I'm thinking about it, was Nell buried where the Mom was?
