I’m so happy that you guys love this movie. I think it gets an unnecessary level of hate because of the brand new information surrounding characters we thought we knew completely. But I have been a fan of the wizarding world for 20 years and I feel like I’m in such a small group who understands JKR can do whatever she wants because SHE CREATED the whole universe . So it is nice to see I’m not alone because it feels like it sometimes. All I ever hear people do is bash JKR, these days and it’s very tiring.

I'm thinking the same, Josh. Good to know that there are still people who love the movies :)

As Josh said the opposite, I'm going to speak on the side who understands the complaints (tho saying that I will say I definitely enjoyed this movie a lot more this time through then I did seeing it in theaters). I've also been a fan of HP and the wizarding world for a very long time. I've read the books probably almost 20 times, plus all the background stuff. I'm not going to say what because I don't want to ruin anything for you guys, I enjoy watching your reactions and seeing you enjoy these things for exactly what they are on screen (in fact it gives me a new appreciation for the movies. I didn't enjoy them as much once I started reading the books cuz of all the missing details lol). But as a huge book fan there's a few things, one thing in particular that just is in direct opposition of what we've always known about the world, and it's something that's actually *hard* to change so seeing it changed here is a hard pill to swallow cuz either 1) this thing is completely different and its frustrating to have something that's been fact for years completely overwritten and tossed out for something that wouldn't usually fit OR 2) it's a red herring and if you've read the books then you know the trick of it and that in itself is frustrating. There is a point to JKR (and I'm not gonna go into JKR as a person here cuz I try really hard to separate her from the HP books as a series I love vs a person I really do not like) being able to do what she wants because she created the universe, however as someone who writes my own stories and universes and hopes to get published one day it's also... once something is written down in your work as hard fact and published, and read by millions of people around the world, it's kinda hard to just.... change it to fit whatever you want because, as soon as something published, it *does* kind of take on a life of it's own. So when I first saw the movie, I was one of those fans that was... super pissed off about certain details. I'm willing to see where JKR goes with this... It's just hard to look at this knowing that there were some changes that were made that you would think would have a big impact on the story of Harry's time and yet we know that it can't because that's already written and CAN'T be changed. And I think that's what's so frustrating about it, it makes plot holes that weren't there in the original stories and... nobody likes plot holes, right? Of course though, as a huge fan of this world, I probably won't ever get to the point where I'll be like "well I'm not going to watch this". As far as I'm aware, they also have plans to do a Quidditch Through The Ages movie series (which is another book that Harry has read during his school years)--it was announced same time they announced Fantastic Beasts movies were going to be a thing. I'm really excited for those and hope they are still going to happen. They've also announced that HBO Max I believe is planning a live action "harry potter" series... they're hoping to make one at least, no plans on what it could possibly be about (personally I'm hoping for Marauders era or maybe something about the Founders of Hogwarts? That could be so fun). I do want to mention that the next movies, Gellert Grindlewald is going to be recast because of the stuff going on with Johnny and Amber (which is... honestly horrible, Johnny does not deserve this at all)--saying that however, Gellert is going to be played by an amazing actor named Mads Mikkelsen. In fact he plays Hannibal Lecter in my favorite series of all time, aptly titled "Hannibal" and I think he is going to make an AMAZING Gellert. So while I think it's absolute bull what they did to Johnny, I am immensely excited to see what Mads brings to the table as Gellert. Now saying all that, there is something I very deeply loved about this movie. And that was all the stuff about Albus and Grindlewald. There was so much about them in the Deathly Hallows book that it made me soooo sad that absolutely none of it made it into the movies. I understood why of course, but the chapters about them, or about Snape, or about Tom Riddle growing up, or about the Marauders in school WITH Snape--those were always my favorite chapters and practically none of them ever made it into the movies so seeing here a sneak peek at the history between Gellert and Albus is amazing. I don't want to spoil the book info for you guys too much but their entire history together and all the stuff that happened with them and Aberfoth and Ariana, absolutely some of my favorite background information in the entire series and seeing Albus look into the Mirror of Erised and seeing him and Gellert as they were when they were 16/17 years old, best of friends (and tho its never mentioned in the books, very widely it is known Albus was in love with Gellert) it just really hit me right in the heart. I am curious about the time line of this though and whether JKR is changing that too cuz if not, whew we got a nice long time frame for this series. Also... Gellert is just so much more... adept at this whole being a leader of the wizards thing than Voldemort was... Tom really should've taken some notes from him. oh and just in case you didn't already get the answer. Nicolas Flamel is the creator of the Philosopher's Stone from the first movie/book :)

Hi, what was the thing(s) that you mentioned that was changed and can’t be reconciled? If it’s spoilers and you don’t want the Reactors to see it.......could you link it here and I’m sure James/NineTailedBrush won’t click the link to avoid spoilers that way.

I personally think that Grindlewald is lying about Credence being a Dumbledore because hes just trying to turn him against Dumbledore so that he will kill him because he has the power to do so. It is sort of confirmed that Dumbledore loved Grindlewald and they had some sort of relationship more than friends but it is unclear if Grindlewald actually felt the same or just used Dumbledores feelings towards him to manipulate him into joining his cause

Btw Nicolas flamel created the Philosophers stone

Stephanie

I agree. I was actually surprised when the movie came out and I saw how upset some people where about the Aurelius Dumbledore thing because I thought it was pretty obvious that its just a lie Grindelwald tells Credence to manipulate him. I could be wrong, of course and maybe it will be confirmed that Credence really is a Dumbledore but until then Im holding out hope that he's not.

Grindlewald may be lying to Credence at the end, but there are other explanations for how Aurelius could be a Dumbledore without breaking the fact that we know that Dumbledore only had 1 brother (Aberforth) and a sister (Ariana). There's one particular theory that I like a lot but it requires quite in depth knowledge of the lore of the wizarding world. If it turns out to be true hopefully it's explained well in the movies going forward, it's not too difficult to understand the idea but I don't wish to spoil it if it ends up being correct.

Yeah I looked it up afterwards. Also he’s a real dude, so I might’ve recognized the name from history 😂😂

Movie has some great similarities in "connections" between characters! You see on beginning Abernathy who changed his appearance so Grindelwald can escape prison (correlation to Peter Petigrew who helped Voldemort come back into his body in Goblet of Fire); That woman who you seen with Grindelwald often is Vinda Rosier (she is like Grindelwalds right hand sergant, like Bellatrix Lestrange was Voldemorts in Harry Potter)! Also, Nicolas Flamel is creator of Sorccers Stone! Grindelwald dont hate Muggles like Voldemort, but he doesnt regret killing them for achieving goals! I think Grindelwald lying about Aurelius (but we will see in next movie)

Im going to try to keep this as short as possible because its just way too much information for me to put i to one comment but yes when Dumbledore was young he way in love with Grindelwald both of them only wanted one thing and that was power and the want of it made them closer together. As we know from official articles from the wizarding world site, Dumbledore’s sister was an obcsurial. (Idk if i spelled that right) and she died very young like the others but not of what you think, Dumbledore, Aberforth, and Grindelwald had a three way duel and she ended up dead afterwards and Dumbledore always blamed himself for her death til the day he died. Afterwards him and Dumbledore made that blood pact to not fight each other again. Potter heads like me know what happen but don’t know exactly how. I cant explain more without getting into detail and i couldn’t say much through a comment section but im so excited about the next few movies. Quite disappointed on johnny depp but i love reading as much as i can about the wizarding world and i feel like i know more about that history than actual history😂. Love the videos keep doing what you’re doing

This could be around how Dumbledore describes the Obscurus as a "dark twin." "An Obscurus grows in the absence of love as a dark twin, an only friend." Is Aurelius' Obscurus the same as Ariana's and thus a sibling to Albus? Or is Grindelwald just lying... that's possible.

Another comment on how both Scamanders escaped unharmed. Before she died, Leta said, "I love you." To whom??? Newt? His brother? Both? Remember that when Lily died VOLUNTARILY FOR HER SON, he was protected by the charm that love created. When Harry died VOLUNTARILY FOR THOSE WITH WHOM HE WAS FIGHTING AGAINST VOLDEMORT, his fellow soldiers against Voldemort were protected from death. SO... when Leta died VOLUNTARILY FOR THOSE SHE PROCLAIMED LOVE FOR, they escaped unharmed. My theory is she said it to both.

My thought on Nagini during the HP years is that she was not a slave but loyal to Voldemort because I think he truly cared for her (when she died at the end of the Deathly Hollows he seemed more than just upset that he lost another horcrux, but heartbroken that she had died) and from her perspective, he was the only person she could communicate with after being trapped forever in the body of a snake
