Have you considered upgrading the engine to a higher thrust version? Might not last as long but would propel the mass of the D1 at least higher than 4meters 😂.

A higher thrust version would be great! But I'm not sure it exists right now. The temporary solution is to lose some weight :)

Fun fact: The Shuttles all used explosives at the instant of launch to "get the rocket off the ground" for that initial lift off, and then the trust curves of the boosters got it moving. Are the hold downs just servos with no sensors? Was thinking that instead of timing, maybe a set of sensors to measure how much pressure is being exerted upwards could detect that initial trust spike, and then release as soon as it goes down. It would flight time as well as getting that bit more precise initial lifting thrust.
