july's juncture (Patreon)

Twitter is continuing to burn spectacularly. I find that it's increasingly becoming useless as a platform for disseminating my creations. It's just too unstable and full of algorithms being used against you. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be many viable alternatives either. I've tried various other platforms throughout the years like Pillowfort and itaku but they're pretty much niche platforms. That's a nice way of putting it.

Luckily for everyone, regardless of what happens with Twitter, that's not really going to affect what I do here. And more importantly, I'm still on my Discord server which I will continue to plug.

Also, I injured my right wrist (RSI) a bit early last month, which was part of the reason why I ended up finishing my projects fairly late. I'm OK now, but I'll need to be more mindful with how much stress I place on that wrist.

I will probably update the Orc model again this month. He looks great as it is, but as I've stated before, there's a few annoying issues with the model that make post-processing work with him a pain (because I have to conceal faults with the model through Photoshop). I learned quite a bit on how to export + convert the model properly after playing with the Zandalari/goat model, so now I can apply those techniques onto the Orc model. And give him a better asshole too, like the one the moo model has. The existing Orc model does have an asshole but it's uh, misplaced. That's why you don't ever see it. 😹

I really, really, really wanted to give him proper toes too. I tried (there's a few teaser images in the Discord server exclusively for Big Supporters), but my skill level just isn't there yet. It was getting to a point where I was preventing myself from working on the Orc model at all if I couldn't get the feet done the way I wanted them, so better to just let it go and work on beautifying the rest of his body.

An Oracle has departed, so their position is now open. Read me for more info. I am still brainstorming more fresh ideas with moos, and also taking a look at more of my older projects to mine for remake ideas.

I'll repeat last month's talking points for Big Supporters one last time:

1. MEGA has a daily download quota, so you should prioritize downloading the content you really want to see first. Some older projects can also be found on the Discord server in the #big_supporter_content channel for your downloading convenience.

2. The Discord Patreon bot is buggy and can fail to assign the proper ranks. If anything is wrong with your rank, please let me know so I can manually assign it.

For July, the Big Supporter projects I'll be working on are still up in the air. The departing Oracle did not request a specific idea and left it up to my judgment. 

The other Oracle is considering a Worgen themed commission with me, and I'm still in the process of brainstorming + negotiating with them. If that commission goes through, then that'll be one of the projects for this month, in place of what the departing Oracle would've selected. It is likely to go through.

The other Oracle's selection is based off of a gomtang image, and will naturally feature a Kul'tiran. 

#98 - corruption and #99 - confinement (remake) from June will remain exclusive to Big Supporters for another month.
