Turkesterone is a naturally occurring ecdysteroid derived from  plants. It is a phytoecdysteroid possessing an 11α-hydroxyl group.  Ecdysteroids are naturally occurring steroid hormones of plants and  arthropods. Research has shown them to be highly effective at building  muscle and enhancing performance.  Ecdysteroid (plant steroid) is found  in Ajuga turkestanica (a plant with a long history of use in traditional  medicine for its anabolic, adaptogenic, hepatoprotective and  hypoglycemic activity), but it can also be extracted from various other  plant species most commonly found on the African continent.
