Hey folks! I've been working my ass off learning unity so I could get another project started.

I'm taking what I learned from BtSP and making a new game, hopefully my growth will be apparent!

Rapturous will be a visual novel with turn-based combat and a small quantity of branching paths. It'll be a lot more linear than BtSP, but also a lot more focused on individual stories and nsfw/vore elements.

Any feedback would be appreciated. What do you like, what needs a fix asap? The demo is pretty barebones so we'll see what comes up.

I just played the demo and here are my thoughts! It was suprisingly short, but my thing? Besides the fire, attacks, defends, and belches, It feels incredibly empty without any music. The setup is neat, but I dont have enough meat to chew to get hooked at the moment, the concept itself does perk my ears as to what you can do with demon designs. Perhaps something like colors and whatnot. Im excited to see what you play with the concept here! Truly! also Simon is kinda hot!

As I said in discord, this was an awesome demo! Really solid foundation for a lot of the game systems. Overall, my favorite thing was how much more "dynamic" it felt. BtSP felt a bit static at times, but already simply having Simon move around and the screen based on his pose really kept me engaged. The addition of the particle effects, and sound effects for general interactions, was also a welcome addition. Again, it really helped things feel more engaging (cause pretty lights and nice sounds!). I would love those additions to be extended into the wider game to where some of the characters you interact with have actual sound bytes to them, like a laugh, a chuckle, a "what?!" when something surprising happens; all of that would be really add a lot to the conversations Going on to the main feature, the basics of the combat system were very solid. I liked the options you've setup with the Skills, basic attacks, and defends. The submit option was also a big surprise (especially that lovely picture .///.). Are you planning on making the submit option lead to alternative ways to solve a combat encounter? Really one of my biggest "fix asap" is changing the font used for the player character's internal monologue. Not showing our selected name is good, but I'd suggest italicizing the font, or otherwise changing it where it doesn't match the player character's font when he is speaking. Otherwise, this is great stuff, Simon is my new big demon boyfriend, that Kobimp could eat me all day cause he's a good boy and deserves it. 10/10 demo of the year

Also, for the combat, I think some changes to the enemy model as they get more damaged would be a nice visual treat.

Hey thanks! I just wanted this to be a tiny microcosm of what I want to make into a larger game. If the base pieces are good, then I can make them more esoteric!

I tried to play it, but I was unable to. I just get a 7Z-file which I have no idea how to play. clicking on it, I seem to only activate downloading the same file or something.

Hey no sweat! A .zip file essentially just compresses data into a state that's easier to send. All you need to do is get 7Zip or WinRar, extract the archive (archives are just compressed files) then you can find the .exe application in the folder you just uncompressed!

So far so fun! I'm excited to see more of the game, maybe even some fun with Simon!

I can't open it in Mac. After opening the zip I get a blank paper with a pencil as an icon and it tells me I can't open app

The mac version is on itchio! At least I hope it works. it's not as straightforward as I would've liked to export it to a different OS https://zyyphelze.itch.io/rapturous

I have MacOSX but we do have an automatic unzipping app which is the Archive Utility however as said before it just comes up as a blank app with a pencil. Is there any other applications we need in order to open this? (I was able to play BTSP)

Zyyph

Hmh. If you're getting the right version from itchio then it might be an issue on my end. I'll go back to the documentation. Sorry, it's hard for me to test since I don't own a mac
