 I've been considering adding a few meters into the game, to allow players to get money, health, and keep track of your relationships with the characters.   This system has a few benefits: 

  • Repetitive tasks can be added to the game for healing, gaining money, and adding time between dates.
  • It allows players to dedicate a lot of time to gather resources, which can give you unique paths when you go on actual dates.
  • A health system allows for bad ends to be avoided, or to be forced.
  • Relationship progress allows players to favor some characters over others more organically, without swearing off anyone.
  • Exploration can reward the player intrinsically.


I'd like to know what you guys think! I was also hoping to add some extra side characters for one-off dates. Maybe I'd offer those as YCHs, or a really high paid tier? That would weave well into this system. Do you have any ideas or anything you'd like to see come from this concept? Any problems I should avoid? Tell me.
