Hey Fam!

So excited to drop this download for you. This week on the channel, we recreated the Picture in Picture effect found on Ali Abdaal's channel!

We jump into some fun concepts in Motion! Then we publish it into Final Cut Pro!

That said, if you want, you can download the project file and use it directly in FCP right away!

If you want to watch the tutorial, you can check it out here 👉  https://youtu.be/CvjxbrnSv8I

The download includes some handy On Screen Controls to make your life much easier in FCP!

As always, I am so grateful for all of your support on my channel!

-Dylan your Final Cut Bro 👊

Installation

FCP 10.4.6+ required!

To install, drag folder to Movies > Motion Templates > Effects > The Final Cut Bro

If you don't have a "The Final Cut Bro" folder, you can make one and it should work great!

Hey Dylan thank you so much for all of your work! Now this is probably me being impatient and not actually checking the files yet. But does this Picture in Picture have the same capabilities of your PIP 2.0? I was just about to commission a guy on fiverr to create this for me and then I found your channel and bought a bunch of presets and found this video! Thank you so much btw!

Hey Jonny, this is separate from the PIP v2.0. There’s a significant bug that’s keeping me from adding this to the PIP, that’s essentially quadrupling the border when I add the Ali Abdaal look to the animation capabilities of the PIP 2.0, so unfortunately right now they have to be separate. But this gets the job done if you don’t need it to animate in and out!

Hi Dylan, just joined recently. Is it possible to add OSC for this effect? I'm unable to move the entire frame with the image behind like in PiP 2

Hey Michael! There should be OSC’s already on the plugin. I just double checked, and there are two reticles you should be able to grab. If you’re not seeing them, make sure the effect is selected in your video inspector. Also restarting FCP might make them show up. Hope that gets you up and running!
