We have reached peak anime with this update.

REVERSE SUMMONING RITUAL = DONE

And with that

CHAPTER 2-B = DONE

Pheeeew. I expect the latest content to have quite a lot of bugs. Also once you return from the Reverse Summoning Ritual, don't be surprised that nobody reacts to anything cause that's the planned workload for next week.

I probably ended up with too many plot points happening, which kind of creates an atmosphere of AND MORE THINGS ARE GOING ON!! but I also think it's a suitable atmosphere for the clusterfuck ritual where I no longer have an idea of who is whose side by the end :'D 

Besides a lot of plot, the update also has an additional two-stage boss fight (well, technically the remaining 2 stages of the purely narrative first stage that I already deployed last week). In the second stage you will be facing a very strange battle of which I do not know yet if it makes sense or not. It's probaly the conceptually strangest battle in the game yet. Originally inspired by an encounter in Nier Automata where you had to fight two bosses with two different characters while switching all the time. But with lots of weird stuff like an implementation of Dolus Divine Gift.

Release also got a bit delayed because the build infrastructure went down in the middle of the release train so I had to setup a local one and mess around with some Docker stuff. On the other hand, in case of future build infrastructure downtime I now have a local backup ready. It takes like 1h to build and deploy everything instead of 15min but eh, it's something.

ONE IMPORTANT NOTE: I had make some major implementation changes for the alternating battle that break if you played past the point of the Alicia/Aura split from last week! Your save will not be compatible!

Not sure what kind of screencap I can post to pretty up the devlog post without spoiling anything, because literally any screencap feels like a spoiler so maybe I will just drop the following screencap (for something that definitely needs tweaking, looking at the stats):

And without elaborating, I will leave you to this weeks prerelease build :'D As I said, next week I will be focusing on some world state update, both in Roya but also for some stuff related to the corruption storyline, mostly the Compendium. Besides that I also plan to add some more items to the Alchemist and Artifact Workshop that will help with the Chapter 2-B content and of course also with the upcomng Chapter 3 content. Hey, the last fight in the new update is bugged

I got teleported out. The goal of the quest did not finish. I attempted to re enter the cathedral and now I'm stuck since everything is frozen

I can just move around but my path is blocked by the first fight NPCs but they do not react
