"I love democracy"

"I've said it before, and I'll say it again: democracy simply doesn't work."

I don´t care this "democracy" in this case (kinda like the hair), but I stopped patronizing some developers when that same "democracy" made those game derail to things I don´t really like, like femdom, only-lesbian stuff or futanari-doms, by example. I am not sure (as wanna-be-developer myself, setting up my patreon too) that leaving some decisions to 3 people pledging $50/month is better than let those decisions to 150 people pledging $1...

i have to agree honestly, im torn. i honestly think the dev is trying to be fair to every one and maybe just going about it the wrong way, and i like this dev and like this game, i felt so strongly about it that its the first thing ive ever supported on patreon before but at the same time, this whole thing has left a bad taste in my mouth.

The game vision is never going to be shaped by patrons, nor will high-paying patrons ever feature creep the game. However, the secondary vote was barely utilized before and I want to give incentive to upgrade to a higher tier by giving impact on the polls. If you have better incentives to give to higher paying patrons that don't distract me from making the game (such as exclusive extra story content or similar stuff other creators offer), you can always propose them.

It being such a close poll it's bound to leave a few people disappointed they're choice didn't make it. I think both looks were great though!! I know a few people were hoping for Hermann's friends to show up and recognize her, but it's not like she's covering her face. They or anyone really, could still recognize her!! Plus Aura-Dev still has the the twin tails asset, so we could see a hilarious moment where we get the person try to imagine her hair in twintails then switches the Mary and Twintails hair for a second in game.

Having more voting power just because you have money is just a spit in the face imo. Thats almost like real life politics...

I think it's fine to treat it as $1=1 vote. It's not like it was convincing either way. $1 patrons that voted for the open style are going to be happy. The high-dollar patrons were pretty split as well. This isn't that big of a deal, it's not like it changes the story. Without giving an incentive, investors might not feel like they are making a large impact and reduce their contribution. Aura-Dev has been someone I've trusted for a while now, and they haven't changed anything mechanically or story wise because of someone's contribution amount.

I hope that would never be the case. When "rich" patrons would change mechanics and/or story in a game in a way different to the one that made me pledge for, then I am out. And I doubt I am the only one. I repeat : what money is more important? 150$ from 3 patrons paying 50$ or 150$ from 150 patrons paying 1$ ? I think the intention of trying to get higher tier patrons would become just the opposite if people stops pledging because they think their votes are useless...

This poll is rigged, just like real life politics. Bribery pays for everything.

I understand this. Listen, I think that is a very valid concern, but you should also try to look objectively at what has occurred before deciding what will occur. A choice in hairstyle is not what makes this game fundamentally worth funding. It's easy to feel a little wrong about the slant, even if your side won out because it, but this doesn't mean you should consider believing in a slippery slope fallacy. Regardless of donations size or not, I am certain that your voice is being heard here, and it's not 50 times less significant than anyone elses. I will be right there with you, objecting to the practice should the story or mechanic be swayed based on the size of your wallet. Aura-dev has the choice to do something like this anyways, just as you and I have the choice to withdraw support. Juggling a fair system while executing a strategy to maintain a healthy budget is not an enviable position and it might be more helpful to pitch alternative ideas on how high dollar pledges can be thanked properly in a niche passion project like this. We need people like you ready to hold feet to the fire, but I appreciate throwing my 2 cents in on something superficial, like a hairstyle choice, even though I personally wanted the twin tails look for this. If a creator gets too much backlash from fun community polls like this, they might lose interest in the future and decide for themselves. I could totally be missing the mark as well, since it's not like I know anyone here but me. I'm just a small donor like most here. Aura-dev has earned a lot of credibility and trust from me with the direct communication they provide and I would hate to see the project suffer over a cosmetic disagreement. And sorry for the wall of text that no one asked for lol.

I understand giving the people that pay more voting power but someone having 15 or 25 times more voting power on polls because they pay more is to much
