Due to recent developments there is uncertainty about the future of nsfw games on itch. I don't want to explain too much here since there are a lot of unknowns floating around but the core issue is that itch has removed the ability to collect payouts for various developers this month.

A month where we finally see some advancement on the main story of Star Knightess Aura! As usual, I refer to the devlogs for the individiual prereleases for those who are interested in a closer look at the changes, here we will dive into a summary of the main changes.

Put into numbers we have 11 new corruption scenes, 1 new dungeon, 2 new boss fights, 2 new lewd scenes, 1 new H-CG, 1 new character artwork, and various new additions to Verdeaux including main story progress!

Enter Main Cathedral and meet some old faces to kickstart the main event of Chapter 2-B! Besides that you can also find the new Bless II spell in here which also enhance Coatings and Drugs. You can also find the Shadowcloak II spell can be learned, further reducing your dectability. Of course, you know the Church at this point, they like their tutoring fees...

Besides the new skills in Main Cathedral we also have new ways to powerup all over Verdeaux. The Elixir Alchemist can turn large amounts of raw materials into Elixir potions which instantly raise your stats. The Book Cafe Pastries & Books has some new books to sell for those who are too poor for any of the other powerups :'D. At the market square you can find a new Material Merchant who sells the materials Slimy Oil, Mutated Spores, Scorpio Claw and Jelly Jam - although with a pretty slow restock speed, like the Nephlune material merchant. The prices are pretty expensive but those in need of these materials to deal with debuffs or to create new coatings, it should be helpful.

Even the Erotic Bookstore has a new book for sale, requiring 30 Lewd Knowledge though! However, if Aura reads it, she becomes so proficient at making her partners cum during sex, that the first day-ending sex action will not end the day. This means for example you can now have sex with Hermann without ending the day, giving Aura some counterplay to have more time for questing afterwards. Of course, the downside being the fact that she has to be corrupted enough to have 30 Lewd Knowledge in the first place.

The final addition this month to the Roya content is the second level of the Mount Firestorm dungeon, putting to 50% completion. Mine a lot of Pyromantium, a boss similar to Whitefang but tuned up to Chapter 2-B levels of difficulty and try to reach the end of the level without KOing from the heat.

In the mental world we also have a lot of new mental changes! Install a derogative nickname for George, power up Perverted Fulfillment, strenghten the curse to give extra corruption on orgasms, pull the George reationship lever and counter Aura's counter to questing post-sex by giving her a trait that makes it hard for her to focus for the rest of the day after reaching an orgasm.

We also have a lot of new corruption scenes to go along (altough most of them don't need you to trigger any mental changes). The bullying story line continues alongside the deterioration of George's and Aura's relationship as her values in other people changes towards valuing appearances and status over character and kindness. We also reach the by now for several built up point of Rose infiltrating the cheerleaders and switching to her gyaru art.

Then masturbation storyline has been further expanded, making Aura's sessions more explosive as she incorporates some toys into them. 

Finally, there is one more story scene to the Bad Guys meetup scene sequence I won't further spoil.

And I believe that covers most of it --- wait! Nearly all of it, we still need to take a look at some new balancing changes! The most important one: Eyes of Greed can now be partially dodged! You will receive an incomplete version of the curse that still reduces Aura's willpower as you spend money but it won't lock you out from spending the money at 0 Willpower.

Then, we also have two new difficulty modes that act as intermediate difficulty levels between Story and Hard. Hard has been renamed to Nightmare in this context. The new difficulty level between Story and Normal - Explorer - leaves the difficulty of encounters as they are, but turns off the Soul-Break bad end. It also does the encounter reduction and gives you some more money, but overall the difficulty itself is similar to Normal but you have a lot more room to play the game at whatever pace you feel like.

The new Hard mode which is now the intermediate difficulty between Normal and Nightmare likewise has its original trait of doubling curse effects and the costs of using workshop services, forcing you to rely less on raw stats. Encounters however, have not been buffed and are on the same difficulty as Normal.

I am not too much of a fan of adding too many difficulty modes as I mentioned a couple of times, but I believe the time has come to filter out the noise of feedback that is actually not feedback for a difficulty level but rather the wish for an intermediate one like I added this update.

Besides that there are a bunch of further balancing updates. Slime users will have a bit of a harder time with the summoning costs increasing by 2 instead of 1 per feeding now. Luck has also become a bit less powerful since I felt it was too common that encounters had the max luck factor. Some no-story mental changes like most of the spiderwebs are now auto-removed once their removal condition is met. Likewise, the computer which required 20 mental changes to become unlocked, becomes automatically unlocked once you have them.

I am playing in Story difficulty mainly because of the soul-break mechanic, now that Explorer doesn't have that, I don't mind the increase in difficulty. Thank you, I can't wait to try it.

I'm trying out the explorer difficulty and apparently the event where you save the mage from the jail cell by letting the guard grope you is broken. After you do the event it goes to a black screen and doesn't register as complete.
