Star Knightess Aura Deluxe Edition for 10€ Patrons (Patreon)

I usually prefer to focus on developing features that advance the game content, rather than monetization, but it seems to be that time again where I need to think about on how to further increase our funds. I already mentioned the increase of cancellations that we are facing. 

However, there is a second factor that has been keeping us stagnant for the past months. Despite the number of patrons being in an overall plus (despite the cancellations) due to still strong new sub numbers, the overall income hasn't moved up (see the Figure below).

The reason for this can also be seen in the Figure: The average contribution per Patron has gone down quite a bit. Over the past year by about 23%. And It's been decreasing by about 2% each month, so even though the Patron count has been going up, we have been stuck a bit. At the same time, the end of the year - and with that the end of my working contract at my day time job - is drawing closer. We have reached a number that is very close to the full-time goal, but still shy by 1k.

So much for the context of this post. In order to give some more incentive to pledge to a higher tier, there will be a new build type: The Deluxe Build. I didn't want to spend too much time on implementing the extra features for this build, so I focused on including two popular but easy to implement features. Both of them are available from the Deluxe Console that you can find in the Abandoned Shrine.

  • In-built cheat console: You can freely add Gold and Stats from here. If you want more advanced cheating, I recommend using some of the available save editors. But I think money and stats are the most effective cheats (and very quick to implement).
  • Costume Change: Once you have unlocked a lewd scene with a costume change, the costume becomes available at the console under the Change Costume option. Currently features Maid, Bimbo, Tavern, Sexy Tavern and Bunny. The changes are reflected in the standing image and the battler. So you can now go and beat up Arwin and Mammon in a maid uniform or something :'D. Note: The costumes are not reflected in the H-CGs!

Saves are transferrable. If you are on the 10€ tier, consider giving it a test drive, I have only done some minimal testing. I think the dynamic costume handling should work in all lewd scenes and all saves but I haven't tested them all.

If there are other (easy) features that would make you interested in the Deluxe Edition, you can let me know here. (Though I don't want to spend significantly more time on it.)

I like the idea but let me give one more possible addition, maybe for a higher tier as well. Another “cheat console” implemented in the clear room. The cheat console here mainly to disable to flag for the corruption end. In case you have an extra 6 hours of play time that you forgot to save for and found yourself not paying attention to your corruption and now either must start over or…. Replay those 6 hours of game play. Just an idea.

Have You Thought Of Raising Time You Can Download The New Patches Per Each Tier As A Way To Incentivize The Higher Tiers?

Not a fan of this process. I was already hesitant of adding the 2 week delay between internal and public build. I highly value the ability to obtain feedback and bug reports as soon as possible to improve the game. I don't want to hinder this by witholding the releases for longer than necessary.

So the only cheat I kinda need at this point is something that gives me vice. I have 8 on my save and I need 10 for 2 things and I cant seem to gain those :D

holy shit you make more then I do! And you think you need at least another 1k a month to work on the game full time? I dont know what country you live in but it must be expensive as hell lol. Well either way I hope you get there. If you are able to work full time on the game then You have officially made it my friend

Income tax is close to 50% where I live and you need to keep in mind that 1500€+/month go back into the game to pay freelancers like our artist. At 5000€ per month, my portion would be 3300€ per month. Which is about 2000€ net. For reference, 1000€/month is the poverty line in my country and my day job net income is 3000€/month. At the current rate, I could easily survive but not build up savings. And not being able to build up savings in a risky environment such as adult games development is a KO for me. Because should this ever fall apart, going back into the normal industry with an adult games background will be tough. And as much as I like doing this, I won't risk throwing away my future without some backup plan such as building up savings for such a crisis.

I can also setup a mega download in the future. In general, paying yearly should not be a problem.

As it currently stands, the game is setup so that when you replay a scene, the parameters - virgin/deflowered (and who Aura's first partner was, if the latter), addictions/brainwashing, hair style/color and accessories (which results in an Aura missing a chunk of her head if you rewatch her sex scene with George on a new playthrough, before she changed her hair style), etc, that are currently set are the ones reflected in the replay. Might it be possible to have an option to set these parameters for the recollection room?

I have planned this as a post 1.0 feature and it will be in the base game. It's technically a bit complicated so I want to do it after all the appearance changes are in the game.

I hope the game generates 10k a month or more. Im just surprised cause I thought America was like the most expensive country out there but apparently its just as bad in alot of other places. My day job is about the same as yours 3000$ a month. Yea you need to be able to advance in life not stay the same so I really respect your aspirations.

I like the steady progress you are making with the game and honestly don't really care about the speed. I don't know about your work arrangement, but maybe it would be more sensible/secure to work part-time or reduce your hours instead of trying to go into fulltime adult games development?

If we don't reach the full time goal, that's probably what I will be doing. I don't enjoy working part-time in my field because it feels like I'm just sitting in meetings, so I would like to avoid that if possible.
