Also, P.S. Just for funsies, the buttspike on a Spartan fighting spear is called a sauroter, or "lizard-sticker". The lizards being your wounded enemy. As the phalanx pushes forward and OVER the fallen... stabby stab stab, without having to reverse a long ass spear, or get your sword out. I'm sure the being trampled probably doesn't help either, but... The more you know!!! Rainbow...

The actor who plays king leonidas has said he did all of his own stunts as well, even though at first he had a stunt double the scene where he goes ham and wrecks the army at the end of the sea is the real actor himself.

I remember lots of gravy seals became fan of Spartans when this movie came out. Started wearing Spartan helmet patches and started using the symbol on their YouTube channels and what not. Completely ignorant of the fact that Sparta got its ass kicked by the Thebians.

Love this movie! Great reaction! If you love medeival battle scenes then Lord of the Rings (I know I ask for it a lot but it's MANDATORY, as you would say :)) will provide some of the best battles in cinema history!

This was an adaptation of Frank Miller's graphic novel 300. If you want to watch another adaptation of his work look up Sin City it has the same stylization as this.

I watched Gladiator in the world’s largest THX cinema when it came out. It was profound. Gladiator is without a doubt the best ancient era movie ever created.

Is it safe to assume you'll be doing the second 300 film as well? Will you be doing the other Frank Miller novels turned film? If so please don't do the Spirit, that movie is a waste of time.
