Big Changes Upcoming (Patreon)
Content
I'm here to tell you that we have some really big changes coming up in the next few days. These will not delay the Roll Tower release in any way or the finalization of the Knight Princess Rescue Arc, but you guys are our patrons, and you deserve to know what's going on, and give us some feedback on the plans.
1) We are formally changing our name from Duke's Team to Towertop Studios.
2) We're going to be reorganizing the way we release stuff. Switching to a public/patron release model, as well as new reward tiers.
- The $1.00 Tier will have access to the patron release of the game each month, and then the public release of that build will occur a month later. This next release will be handled in the normal way, so don't concern yourselves with that.
- The Codes will be pushed back to a $3.00 Tier. Again, this will not happen until -after- this next release, giving you time to change your patronage if you like without altering things.
- The access to previews will be lowered to a $5.00 level, and previews will be made more often and include WIP sketches, design documents excerpts, and similar.
- We're still deciding on the $10.00 Tier, but we're commissioning Bittenhard for a large piece that, over time, will end up including every single princess from all 5 Gats Gens of Towergirls, as well as a good few extra characters. We'll likely allow folks at the $10.00 tier to pitch ideas on who the next character we'll pay for each month should be that's added to the image (selected from the characters already in the game or about to be added to it),
- The $30.00 and $75.00 tiers will remain unchanged, as these were calculated based on counter balancing the average amount of effort necessary to implement such items more than what people were likely to pay for them.
Just to make it perfectly clear in case you missed it, these changes to reward tiers will be made -after- the next billing cycle, not before it, so you will all be getting what you were planning on paying for on this next release.
We'll also be sprucing up the front page, and releasing far more content in the form of patreon posts rather than messages. Codes will show up as an appropriately locked post, as will other content. Finally, we have entered into a partnership with Gats in a formal way, and there will be some very special content updates coming up in the future, as well as real subtitle. We don't want to say too much about those things right now, but we feel like the header image is enough of a teaser for you.
We hope you'll stick with us through the future changes of our team, and of the project as a whole. This is a very exciting time for us here, and we thank you, all of you, who have been here with us since the beginning almost two years ago.
