Update: Life, Stacy, and The Dandy Demon (Patreon)
Content
Hello Patrons new and old! I know it's been a while since I made a proper update, so I wanted to check in on y'all!
This past few months have been...an adjustment to say the least. This summer was probably one of the worst ones I've had in a while. Had a period of hypochondria which resulted in taking meds I didn't need and being bedridden and at one point getting a panic attack. It goes without saying that I was not able to get much work done at all. I was set back even more in July when I went out of town for most of July. To top if off, I made the giant leap of moving out of my family home, living on my own.
It's been quite the adjustment period and because of that, productions on larger projects have been slower than I'd like. That said, I do have a lot that I want to do! As you already know, I'm prioritizing the next Stacy and Company comic featuring Stacy and a new face! My hopes were to get it done by this month, but commissions ended taking longer than expected and that took away time I could've been doing comics.
Now, I'm sure a lot of you are wondering about The Dandy Demon. I still want to work on it and have plans for future chapters. I just personally have a hard time figuring out how to execute it. Truth be told, I came into this series with no plans at all. I had characters, but no world, settings with no context. And because of that I've run into brick walls time and time again. It would be nice to be able to put out more than one chapter a year, and I'm sure you all would appreciate that too. It's times like this where I wish I had more than one me to work on all the things that I enjoy. While I don't plan to do a hard reset on the series (again), I am working behind the curtain and trying to build everything from the ground up. Characters, World Building, Timelines... y'know, stuff that I should've done before starting an entire series.
During this adjustment period, learning how to adult and what not, I want to plan for more comics. Hopefully in the coming months and going into 2022, I won't be going through life-changing evens and I can actually sit down and work on them. It is a balancing act for sure. Truth be told, a lot of the projects, namely Stacy & Company, are spontaneous and kinda pop up when I'm h0rny, thus wedging new projects into my neat annual timeline and pushing back other projects. Not to mention, I'm always learning new mediums and want to make projects beyond comics. But I also know my limits. Don't worry, I am actively avoiding overexertion. I drink water, work out, and don't work when my body doesn't want to. The last thing I want is to cripple myself creatively.
With all that said, I want to thank you so much for your patience and support! Because of you guy's, my college debt is paid off. Because of you guys, I can even afford to leave my family home and work without anyone holding me back! I did not expect my life to go this direction, but I'm grateful it did!
