Bigger the Figure [Animation + Process] (Patreon)

IT SEEMS VIMEO DOES NOT WANT TO WORK SO HERE'S A LINK TO THE VIDEO 

A short little animation I made in a couple days! I rarely get the drive to animate but when I heard this song, I had to make something of it!

I did the animation in Clip Studio Paint and some compositing in After Effects.

Sketch

Wanted to stick with limited animations. Not that many in between. Animated the boobies in a separate pass. My rough animation method is very rough and vague...to my detriment. I tend to tunnel vision on motion and it results in my drawings not being very tight. 

Clean Up

I kinda went about it in a convoluted but also simple(?) way. I started with the head, using it as a base. The hair is on a separate layer. Then I did the hands in another pass and the rest of the body in a final pass. It's all done in vector layers, which was very convenient. The lines were actually pretty thick but Clip Studio has Correct line tool that lets you adjust the thickness of the lines. Probably gonna be using it a lot more

Colors

Colors are pretty self-explanatory. At this point I was debating whether I wanted to keep it simple and stop here or take it further, but at this point I was feeling myself and the day was still young, so I decided to polish it!

Lighting

Just keeping it simple! Little pockets of shadows to accentuate mommy's curves! If you're gonna shade it, best to not overcomplicate it! I just put shadows in key spots where it matters. 

After this I export Sue and the background separately and throw them into After Effects. I copied the Sue animation, shrunk it, move it to the back, made it dark, then blurred it. Simple as that! I also added a subtle gradient in the front to simulate a light source 

Considering how long this took me, I'd like to do more. Animating is really fun (And what I went to college for), but boy does it take a lot out of me! Just gotta build the muscle!
