From Chris: Apparently Oliver Stone originally made this documentary as a television mini-series, exploring his examination of the JFK assassination and attempting to debunk the official Warren Commission report. No channel picked it up, so he cut it down to 2 hours and released it like this. He mentions how Shout Factory was the only label willing to distribute it.
The audio commentary is fascinating - Stone and his writing partner speculate how JFK branded him a troublemaker in Hollywood and how he believes it hurt his filmmaking career. He despises LBJ, who he blames for Vietnam. Almost more entertaining than the actual documentary.
Bonus fact: My mother waited six hours in line with relatives to pay respects at JFK's casket in 1963.
