From Chris: Director Makoto Shinkai's feature debut. Probably his least effective anime movie. Shows his future promise in flashes but the complex narrative and nonlinear storytelling is messy. Set in an alternate Japan divided by war, a quantum Tower looms over the landscape which connects parallel universes and dreams.

Kind of a half-baked premise which probably needed more fleshing out in a longer series.
