From Chris: Drive-in low-budget thriller from 1966. Conceived as a harrowing  socially conscious film for its day, much of it is hilariously over the  top. Three young, college-educated Northerners travel to the deep South  for a voter registration drive. A redneck sheriff arrests them and then  makes their life miserable, leading to him framing them and running a  sham trail. Odd exploitation flick which probably did well in select  regions but every single Southerner is a pure caricature.

Decent  film transfer by the Film Detective. Outside of one scene which looks  sourced from SD, a shockingly crisp B&W presentation.
