From Chris: An older Shaw Brothers film from director King Hu, released by  Arrow Video. It is a martial arts movie but the 1966 film's choreography  is light years behind their glory days in the 70s and early 80s. Less  action and more wooden drama at times. More of an important historical  marker for the genre than thrilling film.

The  transfer is fairly weak in definition, resembles an older scan with  less detail and bouts of softness. Jittery, unstable elements at times.  Moderate crushing, especially interior scenes. Clearly of a different  breed than most of the ones in the ShawScope box set. Occasionally wonky  cinematography doesn't help.
