From Chris: Dare I say it? More fun than a barrel of monkeys, lol. The simple  story is mostly a vehicle for an unending parade of great kung fu set  pieces and awesome training sequences. Unconventional protagonist who  doesn't fit the normal heroic cliches but a versatile, dynamic martial  artist on screen. I did notice really terrible acting by the villains  and supporting characters, worse than usual for Shaw Brothers.

Filtered  transfer with some ringing - lots of clarity but grain is largely  missing and facial detail is totally smooth. Casual watchers will think  this is a good-looking disc but it's not film-like. Somewhat erratic  cinematography doesn't help matters.

Lots  of slapstick and props used in the creative stunts and fights. Highly  reminiscent of early Jackie Chan fight choreography, I have a hunch  Jackie admired this movie and may have been inspired by it.
