From Chris: Ridley Scott adapts the "true story" of how the Gucci scion ended  up being killed in a plot by his ex-wife. Ridley seems to have done this  movie for his wife. He brings his usual polish and stylish direction to  what is effectively a domestic drama set in the wealthy world of  high-end fashion business. The first two hours or so kept my interest  despite having no real interest in the subject but like many latter  Ridley Scott's films, runs another 40 minutes in a final act which feels  more like an afterthought, than the culmination of an elaborate family  narrative.

A bunch of world-class  actors...and Lady Gaga. She's so-so but sticks out in a cast with names  like Jeremy Irons, Jared Leto, Al Pacino, Adam Driver and a bizarre  token role from Salma Hayek. On a side note, the wardrobe and make-up  department does everything it can to style Adam Driver's look after  Christopher Reeve's Clark Kent from the Donner movies. Has to be  intentional because much of the movie takes place in the same time frame  as the late 1970s, early 1980s.

Insane  video quality for BD - One of the best-looking live-action BDs I've ever  seen. At times I thought I was watching on UHD. A crying shame MGM  wouldn't spring the bill for an actual UHD release. Reference video.
