From Chris: An astonishing Japanese movie from 1969. I'd loosely label it as  erotic horror but that doesn't quite capture its essence. More of a  primitive body horror film that delves into masochism and sensual pain.  Something I could see David Cronenberg making.The ending is  unforgettable.

From Arrow Video,  the transfer is limited in definition. The movie came from a defunct  studio and no real restoration work has been applied. The shoddy  cinematography and poor focus result in a BD that barely looks HD at  times.
