From Chris: Bill Paxton's first movie has him playing a crazed mortician's son in this okay horror flick from the early 80s. There's no hint here he'll go on to have a long and productive Hollywood career.

Probably more interesting for Mary McDonough, a young actress coming off The Waltons who stars here. I guess she was hoping to make the transition into feature acting and shed her image from The Waltons, performing full nudity. The movie is let down by a lame mystery with an obvious solution and some poor F/X in the death scenes. Fairly typical
horror for the period with a lot of nods to Halloween.

I would never pay the $25 or whatever Amazon is charging for Mortuary but it's a movie I can enjoy reviewing on some level. Tons of crushing and soft grain in the weak transfer.
