From Chris: A poor man's version of The Natural, though it's a proper biopic of Babe Ruth and a fairly honest portrait of his out-sized lifestyle and personality.

Weird that Mill Creek would issue this when Universal themselves put the movie out on BD in 2017 with special features. I'm guessing Mill Creek will license anything that Walmart is         willing to carry in its stores. So-so transfer that is maddeningly inconsistent. Decent enough scan of the film negative but it looks like no attention was given to the color         grading.

The story does take a few dramatic liberties with actual events in Ruth's life. The movie makes it seem like Ruth had a three-homer game at the end of his career and then walked off the field into retirement. He did have a three homer game near the end, but only retired after a miserable stretch of several weeks where he went into a terrible slump afterwards.
