Pekka The Coyote Reference Sheet [WIP] (Patreon)

Work in progress of a commission for geo_coyote on Twitter! Realized I never posted the sketch WIP here first before getting this all finished, whoops! Been hammering out art the last few days, and jumping around from commission to commission so I tend to forget what I have and haven't posted xD

Anyway! A cute, blonde, chunky 'yote boy! 

Geo had an imgur link full of great visual references collaged together, along with minimal notes, to help me design this guy, which I really appreciated! Everything was great with the sketch, Geo just decided to go against having glasses on the ref as he'd like to experiment with the look before officially adding it on the ref. 

Then onto colour! A palette was already set for this guy so that made designing nice and easy! Purple accents to be left rather minimally so I decided to place them on the chest, hair tuft tips and elbow tips. Difference between the first two 'A' and 'B' wips are just main coat colours. Plain blonde as originally requested, and then blonde mixed with a light tan. Geo loved version 'B' so we went forward with that in the last  couple WIPs. Last minor changes were changing the chest marking to a dark brown, inner ear brown slightly darker, and moving the purple accent to the tail instead. Final 'A' WIP was Geo's idea for where the purple could go on the tail, and 'B' is me providing an alternate option; dipped purple tail.

Dipped purple / 'B' was once again the choice between the two, so I took that WIP and finalized it! Ref sheet is all finished now, just waiting for the ok from the client before posting it publicly!  

This was a lot of fun to work and I really enjoyed the back and fourth during the process! I hope to see more of Pekka around online (and hopefully I'll personally get to revisit him in another piece later down the road too!)
