...is finally ending!(≧∇≦)

The Asari Ringworld has been officially the most problematic thing we've ever tried to do. Not even in terms of implementation, but down to its very design! It has suffered multiple delays, deprioritisations, revisions and generally a huge host of problems that have earned it residency status in Development Heck, Nebraska.

But after all this trouble, tears and t... (I need another t-word... ... ... tentacles? sure, why not, let's go with that) we have at last arrived at a design we are happy with!

Behold! My terrible, terrible, awful, messy concept "art", outlining an idea for the seam (top) and habitat (bottom) sections, as well as the vague shape of the intermediary ring structure itself.

Thankfully for all of us, Nessa is much better at modelling than I am at drawing, and after some experimentation, she was able to put together a prototype:

While we were happy with how the habitable sections turned out (very asari!) the hexagonal seam ended up seriously clashing with the rest of the ring. So we discarded that idea and went back to the drawing board.

Eventually, this...

...was replaced with this!

Yes, it is a massive circuit board of GLOW 2.0 tubes! n_n

And the end result completely surpassed our expectations!

And this is where we're at now! There's still a lot of work to do before it's finished - the tech section, deciding on details, scaling to match Stellaris dimensions, then mapping and texturing. But! I just wanted to show you that we are finally past the big bottleneck and the rest of the process is going to be very straightforward in comparison (*^▽^*)

I am happy that the tears and tentacles have spurred you on to such a result! :) Keep it up!

Thank you <3 I can't believe that was the only t-word I was able to come up with
