You look at the squirming priestess. Even Cyyani's insults seemed to have a positive effect on her. “What happened to you?”

Teuta looked at you. “I told you. It's the cloth. All it is are long days with almost nothing to do between healings but have sex. In the temple that hosted me at the capital the confessional I occupied became known as the cities most popular glory hole.” She seemed to be reminiscing, rather than simply recounting.
“Here we are again. Nothing to do between healings but have sex.”

Cyyani and Jeane were rapt from Teuta's story. “This woman is insatiable.” The Jackal remarked.

“What do you want?” You were almost afraid to ask.

Teuta looked up in thought. “I kind of like... Everything. So it's hard to say?”

“Everything?” Jeane repeated skeptically.

“Oh, yes. I think I would probably do anything. I've indulged myself freely for so long that I don't know how easy it would be to refrain. I was almost to the point of bursting before meeting you, Hero.” Teuta smiled brightly. She leaned against you and clung to your arm affectionately.

“How are YOU a priestess?” A look of disgust continued to be held by the former Queen.

“Oh, Vera's only tenet represents faith in man. There is of course the standard doctrine and the healing, however I've found that by my interpretation I have more faith in my fellow man than anyone else around me. So much so that I will let someone fuck me through the hole in a confessional or pour honey all over me and-”

“Okay, that's... That's fine. I believe you.” You had to stop her.
“I don't want to stop you from practicing your- your faith?”

“Weak.” Cyyani commented.

Jeane leaned close. “Do you find your divine strength to not wane at all?”

“Actually, I find that I while I am being filled by a man, her light fills me even more. It's always been said that Vera's light is extremely potent within me. That's why I was called to this expedition over any of my sisters, or even the Mother of the Temple.'

You raise your hands for her to stop. “Okay! I feel it's probably best for you to simply... Do you. It's just... I really do like you Teuta. Are you going to insist on fucking other men?” You felt a sense of dread wash over you. You were not sure you wanted to hear the answer.

Teuta recognized your anguish and tapped her lips gently in thought. “What if I only ever indulge within your tight circle of friends and family?”

“That would mean-”

“You.” She motioned around the room.
“Jeane. The Jackal.” Cyyani's ears twitched.

“Restrain your heathen tongue around my body, pig woman.” She responded coarsely. Jeane simply blushed in response.

“You can restrain me if you like.” Teuta said cheerily. Cyyani rolled her golden eyes. She continued listing.
“Marrien... Fiona?”

“I'm sorry... My Mother and Fiona?”

“They're both fine women.” Teuta remarked optimistically.

You were hesitant, but you noted that all of the people listed, and all of the people you were gathering around you so far were woman. Sam was dead, so there was no risk there. You gave a short nod.
“Fine. Enjoy yourself. Just be careful with Fiona if you're brave enough to try anything with her.”

“Thank you!” She hugged you tightly.
“I've never met a man that's said yes to that before.”

Cyyani snorted. “Indeed.”

You stared at the Jackal. “Cyyani. A moment.” You pulled her from the room into the hall.
“Is there an issue?”

“No issue.” She smiled.

“You're being snarky and it feels like you're not as on board as I thought you'd be. I need to know that you aren't going to undermine me when it matters.”

The woman exhaled exhaustively. “Ah there it is. I'll say this for you; In a battle to the death on equal footing I'm not positive I'd win. Same with your sister.”

“What does that even mean?”

“There is no one in my Kingdom that I could say the same about, so you are special to me. You and your sister represent a challenge that I would like to overcome.”

“Again... Is that supposed to instill confidence?”

She smirked. “If you don't feel the same about me then perhaps I misjudged you, Hero.”

You placed your face in your hands and dragged them down in frustration. “In your society your idea of cooperation is mutually attempting to gain leverage over one another?” She punched your shoulder with a strength that you believed she thought was light.
“Ow!”

“Relax. Usually it's a dynamic that only exists between women. However, you are strong enough that I would potentially be able to consider you as more woman than man and compete with you as such. So long as you don't fail my expectations, we can keep it as such.” You were speechless. You knew very well that she meant it as a compliment, but still it just came out as sounding awkward.
“By your face I can tell you're stunned. It's not an honor that I've ever placed on a man.”

“To be... Consider a woman. Got it.” You shook your head lightly.
“Thanks, I guess. So just a friendly push and pull? You aren't going to sabotage me or anything?”

“Goodness no! I've hitched myself to you for the purpose of bringing down your sister, and if you ever lose respect in my eyes fear not. You will still have the honor of becoming my concubine. I suspect your seed would bear many strong girls if Fiona is any indication.”

“Good enough for now.” You muttered.

You lead her back into the room. Jeane looked at you desperately. “She said she will jump on me if you don't 'fuck her into the ground.' Could you? Please?” The Elf begged.

“How the hell do you want me to do that!?” As you asked that, Cyyani walked past and sat down in the corner.

Teuta turned to you. “You take my legs and lift them up while I'm on the ground.” She licked her lips in anticipation.
“Then pin me down like that and just thrust thrust thrust until you cum.”

You only paused for a moment. With two other eyes on you, you approached the Priestess and took her to the floor. She gasped.
“What's wrong?”

“I forget how strong you are because of your size.”

You nodded. “Don't forget.” Her legs were lifted, and then pressed into her to pin her. Her ass was pointed up with both holes almost seeming to wink at you. You guided your cock down, and once it was inside you pushed in and felt a loss of control the moment her folds wrapped your dick. You just rested on top of her completely in her pretzel-like position and used only the motion from your hips to fuck her fast and hard.

“Yes! Yes! Ahaaaa...” Her eyes misted up and her mouth fell open. Her voice escaped in cute squeaks and moans.
“You dick is so good, knock me up! Press me, Hero!”

You groaned. “Hoh fuck...” You cock buried inside her on what must've been the twentieth rapid thrust. “What is WRONG with you?” You grunted, cumming inside. As your cock pulled free with some effort from her sucking cunt, you left behind a spurting pool of white. As you let her go Teuta's body unfurled and lay flat and leaking on the floor.
“Shit! I forgot, we still need to keep this from Fiona.” You looked to Cyyani in particular.

“You are right to be afraid, but I will not betray your secrets.” She promised.

“Good.” You were still trying to catch your breath.

“She will find out on her own, given enough time.”

You rubbed your eyes. “Damn it... She may not be wrong.” You knew now what Fiona was capable of. If she could do something so sinister to Sam, she could probably do the same to anyone else you actually did care about. Please help me keep this a secret.”

“I will.” Cyyani offered.
“I'm rooting for you, remember?” The Jackal winked.

Marrien was straightening out papers within her little office. She seemed annoyed. “What's wrong?” You questioned.
“You don't actually miss him, do you?”

She glared at you. “Of course I miss him! He was clever and pragmatic.” She clicked her tongue.
“A bit too ambitious and cocky... The fool. He played a bad hand to confidently.”

“You don't miss it, do you? The way he'd take credit for your work and demean you?”

Marrien smiled impishly. “Well... There was still a coy understanding, there. He was cheeky with me. It was an interesting feeling. Your father always tended to disregard my advice, hence his travels... However, even if Sam took credit I could still feel pride in the fact that he valued my thoughts to the extend that he wanted to take credit and use them.” She shrugged.
“It was minorly demeaning but, well... I  am a woman.”

“Mom!” You looked to her in frustration.

“What? Don't forget that. I am not a machine. I can't just ignore my feelings. He was charming. I do miss him.” Marrien smiled.
“Oh well. Now I have to deal with the consequences of Sam dying.”

“What are those?”

“There is a chain of command and it does not have me second by a long shot. I'm an advisor.”

“Who takes over the command of the Expeditionary forces, then?”

“The Queen Mother of Pruz, Lauda. Followed by the Emperor's advisor, Qinglong. Then the Elf Queen Jadwa.”

“How does that work?”

“How it works...” Marrien sighed.
“Is, the people put up the most money and resources take the lead. Sam had de-facto leadership due to owning the fleet and controlling the logistics, however with him gone the fleet will follow whoever is paying them.”

“You can't just bribe Orrans into working for someone they don't want to.”

“That's why some ships are returning with whatever spoils they earned. As you said. We can't force them. Those loyal specifically to Sam are going to be gone for the most part. For now, anyone that is able to pay the fleet will have it. All I can say is thank goodness Pruz's pockets are deep.” Marrien stared you down.
“For whatever plan that was attached to that little trick you both pulled, we are weaker for it. Remember that.”

“Mom, I-”

She huffed and opened her arms. “Come here.” You reluctantly stepped in and allowed her to close her arms around you.
“I still love you both very much. We're all on the same team.” She released you.
“But don't push it!” With that she smacked you upside the head and shooed you out the door.
“I have work to do.” Before you were pushed out completely she slid a transcribed page into your hand.

-

“What's she doing here?” Fiona asked coarsely. She was quite clearly staring at Cyyani. The Jackal smiled back at the girl smugly, but did not say a word.

“It's okay. She's useful. Especially since we need her advice concerning a passage of Father's journal.” You claimed.

Fiona looked at you and waited. “Go on, then.”

You read. “As I sailed further inland by the Great River I found a vast kingdom of great beasts. The appealing forms of the Aniyub had given way to monstrous, gnashing claws and jaws. Furred forms that towered at least a foot over me even while hunched forward. My guides would not take me further down the river, leaving me on my own with them. Thankfully they were far more civilized hosts than their appearance suggested. Their cities along the River were ingenious in design and clean to a fault. Where Aniyub decorated themselves in gold, these creatures did so in Iron. Rather than a King, their many Governors and Nobles formed a council bound by laws that ruled their common folk and directed their armies. They called this process a 'Res Publica.' Before I left a young Councilor named Djir saw-” You felt a pit form in your stomach for some reason and glancing over you saw Teuta begin to shake.

“What was that?” She asked, looking dizzy.
“My limbs began to feel weak somehow?”

“I don't know...” You continued.
“Saw me off. He was commanding a border region to the north and said that he had plans to expand. He allowed me free with souvenirs from his territory and a contingent of his men as guards, for the mountains ahead were said to be populated by barbarians.”  You looked to Cyyani.
“So we have a few more Aniyub cities to go before reaching this territory.”

She shook her head. “Just one, and then the rest were captured before a truce was called. But they will be coming again soon once they are regrouped.” She grinned at Fiona.
“I look forward to seeing how you handle this menace, my Queen.”

Fiona stood up. “No one told me half MY territory was already lost!”

“You still have all of YOUR territory, my Queen.” Cyyani explained.
“It's just that the territory that used to be ours now belongs to them.”

“What about our army?”

“The one you decimated for fun with all of your friends is licking its wounds back at the capital but not to worry. There is an insignificant garrison that is standing as a bulwark against the Gnolls vast armies! But thankfully we have you all, now.” Cyyani breathed satisfaction.
“I trust that you will do everything in your power to defeat OUR enemies, my Queen. As will I.”

“Who's Djir?” You shuddered to even say the name.

“Djir is the current Dictator. I'll admit, he is talented for a man. The plight of the Gnolls is a tragic one. Their women were as dominant as we were for a time and we even shared something of a culutre, however their men were too restless to be controlled fully. They shed their Queens and common sense all at once some centuries ago.” Cyyani waved her hand dismissively.

Fiona looked to be in thought. “What do we do?” You asked.

She looked up. “We'll negotiate. If they see reason we can turn the truce into a peace so that I don't have to worry about this for too long.” You could see her motivations on her sleeve. She did not want to have to deal with Aniyufar's problems.

“Offering concessions and truces will have the opposite effect.” Cyyani claimed.
“The three of us and your comrades may have the strength to fight Djir and his elite. They will understand strength.”

Fiona retorted. “If it'll have the opposite effect then why did YOU made a truce with them?”

“Because they're stronger that us. They made a truce to lick their wounds and we both know that means were are both going to be buying time to gather strength. They simply have more strength, and more to gather.”

“So you are just postponing your surrender?” You asked.

Cyyani laughed. “I would fight to the death against Gnolls. I think part of the reason they even agreed to a small truce is because they knew that. They are consolidating control over the cities they captured. They are pleased regardless and my Queen is now on a ticking clock.” She said in a teasing tone.

Teuta chimed in. “Perhaps Fiona's solution is pragmatic.” Fiona perked up and offered a short, appraising look to the Priestess. Jean then spoke.

“I am not sure it was worth is taking leadership over this kingdom. Could simply give it back?”

“No.” Both Fiona and Cyyani said in unison.

The Jackal snickered. “By all means, rule. 'Our' Heroes will pave the way for victory.”

Fiona seemed uncomfortable for the first time since you began the expedition. She looked to you. “Brother? What do you think?” She was not pleading for you to agree with her this time, she was looking for advise. On one hand, the Gnolls were friendly enough to your Father, lending credit to a negotiation. On the other hand, it seemed as though surrendering Aniyufar was eventually going to become non-negotiable if you tried to cooperate with them.

“Are the Gnolls that much stronger than you?”

“Many years ago we were losing steadily. The only reason they did not finish us was so as not to over-extend. I doubt that's a problem at this point. If you leave them you will lose everything to them.” Cyyani advised.

“War is the answer?” You clarified.

“Of course.” She offered casually.
“Conquer them as you did us.”

“I don't want to do as you like, you tricksy Jackal.” In response to Fiona's statement Cyyani just shrugged.
“We should negotiate directly. You and Me, Brother, and our respective aids. We can decide what to do after that.”

“Sensible. Why not?”

“Why talk if you know the outcome? Attack. Invade.” Cyyani argued.

“Where is the bravado you showed me before?”

“I... Don't want to do anything.”

“What?” Cyyani and Fiona again spoke in unison. They exchanged a glance.

“Maybe we leave, sail around and find a way past the point that Father reached on this continent without moving through them. If they try to attack we'll sail back with actual reason to go to war. But maybe they just... Don't? The uncertainty might be enough to keep them at bay for a long time.”

Fiona smiled at you, hesitating to speak for a moment. Then she asserted firmly. “No.”

“I-I'm sorry? You asked.”

“Yes. I'm sorry for asking. You can be quiet now.” Fiona ordered. Cyyani covered her mouth and tried not to laugh.
“We will go to Negotiate and if the Gnoll is unreasonable we will do what is necessary. No more choices for you.”

“Fine.” Cyyani seemed happy.

“Wait wait wait.” You looked to Fiona. She stared at you with a brow raised.

Fiona knows best guys, nobody ever got so far as to eliminate Sam her decisions are most interesting anyway!

So…..what exactly is defying her? Because it seems like two possibilities. Forgo negotiation and attack right out of the gate, or try and sail around them

Defiance of Fiona is going to most show intent to try to scrape back a bit of control from her. The Hero does not get to enact the plan he wants.
