NT Runner 4.1 - Kai - Cold (Patreon)

There was not much to do for Yeong except think and avoid Lacie's passive advances. Rather than continuously having to avoid her he offered her the nebulous job of 'cleaning up.' She was hesitant until Kai tactically mentioned that it was his fetish. As soon as the performer heard that she began giving her best and most accurate rendition of someone sexily and painstakingly cleaning an incredibly run-down room. Yeong was not sure how someone would sexily clean a room but lacie managed. She bent over whenever she was in view of him, always at the waist and always in a way that flashed herself to him. Her body begged to be touched with every slight movement she made. There was a lot to do and Yeong therefore had a lot of time to just sit and stew.
He was surprised when Kai came around from whatever she was doing to sit down on Yeong's lap, facing him.
“What are you doing?”
“Sitting.” She offered casually, playing with his scarf.
“Don't you have work to do?” It would not bother him if she was taking a break, but he drew the line at procrastinating.
“What do you think I'm doing?” She stared down. Her eyes were wide and unblinking. Her pupils small and rapidly moving.
“Can you... Do what you need to do like that? Can you see?”
“Sort of? It took a lot of practice.” She stuck out her tongue cheekily. Even if she was on his lap there was far too much cushion in her rear and on her thighs for him to feel what she had between her legs. It was something of a relief because as far as he felt, it felt like she had nothing.
“Where'd you get this scarf? It's soft, like...” She glanced back over her shoulder. Her own red tail was gently drifting to the left, then to the right emphatically.
“My Halmeoni made it...”
“You talk about her a lot. Did she raise you?” Kai asked. Even though she was facing him and sitting on his lap, playing with his scarf idly in her hands she spoke like someone that was having an idle conversation. It was the feeling of carrying on a talk with someone as they were turned towards a screen and engaged to some game or program, only she was looking at him.
“In a sense.” Kai inhaled her scent. She did not smell as good as her mother's scent that was tailor-made to intoxicate, but she still smelled quite nice. He took the hints and rested a hand on her rear. She smiled and slid closer on his lap.
“In my village the people all present their children when they are first born to the elder for inspection.”
“Sounds spartan. What happens if you don't meet the check?”
“Nothing? It's not a check to see who gets to live. It's to...” He sighed, unsure if he should say.
“What?” Kai pouted.
“The baby is made to pick from a set of items.”
“That's it?”
“On it's face.”
“What's the point?”
Yeong considered the question and offered the best answer he could given his understanding of their shared language.
“To see if the baby can choose.”
Kai snorted. “Everyone can choose. Even a baby.”
Yeong nodded. “So you say.” He did not want to argue, he was far too distracted.
“I feel like you're coming on to me right now.”
She shook her head. “Nah.”
“Then-”
“This is just the best seat in the house. Warm.” Kai mentioned.
“Are you cold?”
She was a bit surprised by the question and let out a little chuckle. “I mean-”
Yeong felt her skin. It was somewhat chilled. The room itself, while warmer than simply sleeping outside, was still not ideal.
“How do you stand it?”
Blood rushed to her face. “When I'm doing what I'm doing now it kind of dulls how I feel outside.”
“Is that literal, or-”
“Shut up, smartass.” Kai groaned. Regardless of whether or not there was a double meaning, Yeong felt she was legitimately cold. He wanted to do something.
