Jet Man

That was a very satisfying ending. Her sign off at the end had a powerful impact. The storytelling overall felt a bit fast paced to me, but that is a minor nitpick. If it was up to the shows developers, they might have done something like 16 episodes or 40 minutes long per episode or something. Some scenes were fine, but others felt so fast they did not give much room to breathe. Otherwise, a great show.

I watched this week to week and every week was so impactful and thought provoking. And now, within the last year or so with the rise of Chat GPT and the rudimentary AIs we’re getting now, and the discussion becoming relevant.. there’s so much depth to this show. Thank you for the rewatch. I enjoy your commentary and I’m glad you stuck with it and enjoyed it as much as I did. Vivy was haunting and beautiful and is one of my favorites. Fluorite Eye’s Song still makes me tear up every time I hear it.

I dont know if anyone mentioned it already, but Vivy was actually an original anime. As opposed to most anime that is based off a manga or light novel

This was a great anime. It has one of my favorite openings and hearing your reaction/analysis to it along with the soundtrack further increased my appreciation for it all. The action scenes/high points of the show were spectacular. It was a pleasure watching your reaction to the show.

Tony, it brings me great to joy to see someone new appreciate/experience this anime. It's oddly under the radar, partially because at the time of release Covid was just tip of the iceberg and this anime was exclusive to Funimation which had a smaller install base. One of my all time greats. Top 5 probably. Glad you even found the music in it to be worthwhile.

Final thing is that end, her eyes are human-like compared to her more camera looking eyes throughout the show. Showing her transition from being just a robot with a mission to being more "human".

Any chance JJK could now take the vivy slot so we get 2 JJK per week? 🤔

I love how Vivy immediately went to business. Saved the random guy TWICE, and then didn't even look back at the next thing cuz she knew Matsumoto would be there in time. That was pretty awesome to see, ngl.

Her walking and testing her voice with the "ah, ah ah ah ah ah" was a callback to the beginning of E1. So good. Love it. The whole sequence with her finally singing the song was so awesome (especially with Beth just popping off with her badassery, but also heartbreaking (the sacrifice). And during that, when she looked up at 21:38, she really does have those fluorite eyes. And then the "Thank your for your kind attention" in the robotic voice really got to me. The ending was so bittersweet for me. Had so much emotion seeing a new her with the short hair and everything. I just ended up actually wanting more, more of the aftermath and the short-haired new Vivy.

Honestly pretty cool to see you react to this, when Vivy was airing 86 first half was airing at the same exact time and I'd watch them back to back every weekend so this was a really nice throwback for me. Your two reactions were probably only a few episodes off of the airing episodes

Love you listened to the OP on the last episode, cool way to end it!

First of all, I'm super happy you liked Vivy. Now something that I mentioned before. Please consider doing gaming stream and play Nier: Automata. Not only you will play one of the best games ever made but you will experience the best music experience in gaming. And if you wonder if just listening to OST would do it. No. OST won the music of the year award and its 10/10 on its own but the way it's implemented and executed in the game elevates it 11.
