I think by "crush her" Denken meant he wanted to exhaust her to the point that she wouldn't be able to get past his party anymore, not kill her. Seems like he mostly wants to test his metal. There's no risk of either killing the other because both have stated that killing isn't worth being a first class mage

Just fyi, that old guy is not a dwarf. He's human. Also worth noting that Freiren mentioned before the test that there are humans that she has/would/can lose to. So you never know.

Not only does the second test proctor, Sense, have practically zero mana presence (since the Stille was just hanging out with her that whole conversation).... she moves extremely quickly and quietly. Insane magic control.
