Exited man your gonna love this series I Lelouch Vi Britannia order you to React to Ep 2 😂

I think the subs on crunchyroll are weird like that, they treat subs as a 'only when translation is needed' and not as all round captions. It is unfortunate but its how all their dubbed videos seem to operate.

Alexander123

“Poison Ass” 😂😂

You will get those, including myself, that will say to watch the dub as that is what most grew up onand was what their experience was. But if subtitles is the factor then the Sub is of course still good. However this anime is very talkative and, while not usually straight info dumps like the intro, will go into pretty deep philosophy that might be easier to keep track of in our native language.

Helpy

I'm sad it isn't subbed but glad you started CG!

JujutsuKaisenFan

I think the japanese version is better imo.

Jet Man

Similar to the death note dub, some of the minor character dubs are a bit wonky. It is dubs of the more significant characters that matter.

AntonJ0™

@jet Which I will defend by saying for a lot of these Actors, classics like these are a lot of their first go's! So it's really cool to hear them starting out n such.

Jet Man

Much like how Jojo Part 3 has a reputation for wide shoulder, big men. This series is known for its long and lanky characters.

For non-native English speakers like me, not being in Japanese/subtitled is quite sad. But at least it's Code Geass. I hope you like the anime, to be honest I prefer CG to Death Note

I mean I am American lol. I can tell you right now I'm like lost as fuck in JJK because the show is like a anime version of ADD with names and powers and more names that sound similar...and other powers that are just non stop. I need one, lol.. one anime that I can just listen to in English and understand 😅😭

In case you wanted the song titles and artists for the opening and endings here they are: - The opening is Colors by FLOW. FLOW is a pretty well known group, but I'm honestly not sure if you've reacted to them before. - The ending is Yuukyou Seishunka by ALI PROJECT. ALI PROJECT is a real band that I believe formed in the 80s.

So apparently I can connect my Amazon account to my crunchyroll account and watch it there with Eng subs. Excellent 😁 thx to Anton for checking it out

Fun fact since you were talking about the character’s lanky designs: they are done by CLAMP a studio made up of all women, at least at the time CG was created. That’s how their characters look like lol. Didn’t expect the DUB but it’s a good choice the voices for all the main characters are well done. It also be way easier to follow the story because it gets very philosophical.

Batman's Pet Goldfish

I did send you one song on a stream once from the OST a while back I think. Also, the dub actors get more comfortable in the roles as the show goes on.

Highside

The lore for this show is pretty interesting, the show never explains it but basically, America lost the Revolutionary War.

Awesome, glad to see the first reaction to Code Geass! One of my favorites for sure. Although I prefer the Japanese voice actors, totally understand wanting to keep one of the shows in English language. Looking forward to seeing the next one! And yes, regarding the ending I'm pretty sure that was not vocaloid, but it did sound like a lot of vocal effects.

This is one of the openings that you'll come back with time and will strike with nostalgia. There is a second season, Lelouch of the Rebellion 2, which I strongly suggest watching, because it explains many of the lore about the Geass that is left unexplained in this series. Overall, Code Geass is a lovely story that is not perfect, but is full of memorable characters and, yes, I'm sure you will soon see the coincidences between Light Yagami and Lelouch. I still love DN more but this one is great as well.

JoeyGuy7

Jjk doesn't make sense even in English because the author just makes shit up as he goes lol

Ice

Just fyi. I personally see a high chance of you really disliking this series. It often gets pretty unrealistic and I can imagine a lot you might get really pissed off at. I'm not saying you *should* hate it or anything obviously, just don't get your hopes up too much. People really like to hype this series up. It has some great moments, it has some really bad moments.

skrrt

The ending sounds like every 90s folktale anime/cartoon opening and I’m all for it cus of the nostalgia trip

William Burke

I can definitely understand wanting to watch without reading with every series but man do some English dubs make characters sound goofy
