What a different style of story within this universe.
The ending of this EP had some confusing parts for me.
Hopefully you can answer my question without a massive spoiler 👀

Might be a hot take but Fredrica is an S tier voice actor in a D tier character

FullHeart

A bit of clarification on the timeline regarding Frederica: She's 10 years old. Her saying "she's the last empress of the Giad Empire, that ordered the legion to invade-", it wasn't her personally that ordered it she was just a baby. She's just the last living inheritor of that order. More info about her ability she mentioned will be revealed later so I wont spoil, but it is similar to Shin's ability to read thoughts of his family. Shin previously said his family came from the Giad Empire at some point so they may even be distantly related.

Like what she said, She is the last empress of the empire that controlled the Legion before it got out of control. She is requesting the 86 fellas to help her 'save' her former knight Kiriya when she was still in charge and She also wants to join in to fight against him because she wants to be the one that saves him????? Honestly for me, I get that it's for comedic effect but her character and her voice do not match at all. I think you just gotta put your earplugs on and ignore her.

I like how you skipped around to see if there were any post credits scenes, actually paused at the right spot, and then proceeded to not actually watch it XD

Sad theme of the episode of them still being completely trapped, no matter how they make themselves look on the outside. It is nice, however, that they're trying to take control of it and go back into the fight by their own choice. Big difference from their previous military life, but the Republic definitely hangs over them still even if they're not the ones forcing them back into combat. I recognized another cool visual symbolic moment, the corner of a building with snow melting in the light and flowers sitting in the shadow. I'm sure someone else will know the meaning behind it but for now it just feels like general symbolism to me. As for your question at the end, it is hard to say anything that aren't what I'd consider spoilers, but you're getting the first taste of her character and plenty will be revealed in the future.

Dolfy

Yeah I'm trolling. But it wasn't a preview, which I guess you might have mistook it as.

2024-03-11 11:59:18 It is kind of hard to explain about Frederica without spoiling stuff, but she is telling the truth. It all has to do with the history of the Empire of Giad. Frederica's circumstances do not get explained in any of the episodes. They could have skipped it, or it may get explained in a future season, but the only way to know is to wait and see.

without spoiling, the girls part in the story is important in that her lineage (both royal and blood ability) will help explain a few things that weve been presented previously in the story. One being that powers were mentioned very briefly in the republic when kids were tested on to develop the pararaid device. Two, if you recall whose family was responsible for that research and another certain family that was their neighbours... There is an implied correlation. Honestly, as annoying as the girl is personality wise she is basically a foil for shin and helps him to grow a little + help viewers uncover a few more secrets about powers, lineages and the history of Giad.

Like they're saying, she's the last empress of the Giad Empire and also from a bloodline that has powers similar to Shin (his parents are from there too). If Shin can hear the Legion's voices, she can see glimpses of the past and present of the people she meets. This explains why she acts like she knows them and also the way she talks like that. It's still for comedic effect and for the whole brattly lil sis troupe that exists in anime but it kinda makes sense in this case. She's royalty, in the middle of a war and she also has that power... that could make a kid talk like she's an adult. a After all, experience is what makes you mature and she's getting ahead in that department with her power. But yeah... she's still clearly a kid lol.

I love the shot at around minute 11, with the shadow behind Shin looking like his scarf coupled with his scar. The whole sequence of the squad seeing the parade and their different but similar reactions to it was primo, they spent so much time on the battlefield they don't know how to enjoy peace quiltlessly. Liked your comment on them seeing "fight till the end" differently, I really like that the president won't just let them enter a self destructive rhythm if he can help it, he probably knows what they meant, but is trying to redefine "the end" in their minds.

Yuyu

yeah, a lot of the obscurity on details is because the series is an adaptation of a light novel. The anime only covers the first 3-4 (?) books where were currently at 9 I think and still ongoing. So a lot of the unanswered questions is just because its still so early on in the story in regards to the books and wont be answered within the anime as a result.

2024-03-11 11:59:18 Circumstances regarding Frederica and her knight are explained in volume 2, though. It should have been explained in the second cour. That is why I said it was either skipped or they decided to save it for later.

Noveria

A LOT of information will be explained in what would be season 2. The lineages of her and Shin get delved into quite a bit. The world building and scope keeps getting larger and it's amazing

I really loved her character and voicer, but I speak Japanese. She's talking in really olden style Japanese, which makes sense for her backround
