hey Tony just heads up this is still season 1, it's just the second cour. S1E12. Season 2 hasnt been released yet, but they have enough content to make one and it might come so dont want to create confusion with it

Its too early to say if this is all you've watched so far, but Frederica and Ernsto are easily the standouts of this latter half of the season. Especially the dynamic between them specifically, you get the sense that they're playing chess while the others are still on checkers every time they start talking.

Second cour is very good! The story just escalates. Hoping we get a S2 soon! Always an enjoyable watch!

You'll, at worst, get used to Frederica. She's always a bit of a goober, but becomes much more tolerable

Jet Man

Frederica killed a lot of the enjoyment this series gave me from here on out. I wish they had adjusted some aspects of her character.

Silver Kyrie

I had similar first impressions of Frederica but her character really grew on me, hopefully it’ll be the same for you, but we’ll see

Frederica is a very specific character type that's pretty common in anime: "the bratty child", and yeah they are always without exceptions annoying as hell, usually on purpose. IMO it works best in comedy anime, was not happy to hear her in this at all. Anime still good though, just lower the volume whenever she's on screen lol.

Excited to rewatch the second half now. Life got really busy around the time this part came out so I fell behind and I have worse memory of it. The thing that flew at Shin in the dream before waking up I'm pretty sure was the shard of his brother's vehicle. I had the same reaction as you to Frederica, but I'm sure she'll grow on you. I can remember roughly the moment my feelings on her shifted heavily. Anyways, a lot of shows, not even just anime, have a habit of introducing a character that's young and annoying so that the character development and growth really stands out and you can really notice how they changed

Agreed about the shard of his brother's vehicle. A lot of people seem to not make the connection, but with the "vision" of his brother saying "alright I cant go any further" and the Giad scientists saying "we found an older model [legion] nearby" the implication is that Shin's brother put the last bit of himself into a random legion bot, followed Shin as long as possible, and then saved him at that last moment.

Oh man, I absolutely missed that the first time and didn't pick it up this time either. That's an awesome detail, thanks for mentioning it. I'll have to go back and watch again at some point looking for it. Also planning to pick up reading from the start after this re-watch so I'm curious if it'll be more apparent in there.

Frederica is a super annoying character at first not forever tho.

I mean it's basically season 2 though with how long they made us wait between 11 and 12.

I mean, covid delays caused tons of studios to have similar splits. Just something we gotta deal with for releases in that period

2024-02-26 07:32:24 It is really hard to understand how Shin survived when he was about to have his head cut off unless you read the novel. That whole sequence of Shin seeing his brother as a knight in episode 11 was actually Rei rescuing him. After their battle, Rei's lingering consciousness possessed another legion somehow and saved Shin. It was implied that it was only a temporary thing and that Rei fully died after getting everyone to safety. This is actually huge because it implies that some people who are taken by the legion maintain their sense of self, something even Shin believes is not possible.

Giad is basically Germany and San Magnolia is France.
