This theme is really beautiful. It plays in the opening episode and I love the use of the typewriter sound effects as well.

Violet evergarden is a beautiful show. You should definitely watch it. Doesn't have to be on video tho because this show doesn't have any Fighting in it so it is most likely not gonna win a lot of vote in a poll but it is def a must watch. Its a series about a veteran soldier that lost her hand in a war and now trying to find the meaning of the word love. She worked as a typewriters hence the typewriter being there in the theme.

lol violet evergarden almost always wins every pole I see put up for it by other reactors. Our man is watching Hibiki Euphonium, and doesn't exactly have a whole lot of fighting.

Mirrorline

Nah id always see it loses when there's a hype show like jjk or any other hype fighting shows that are airing. Hibike euphonium is a music based anime and Tony specifically asked for music based anime to watch. Also, violet didn't even get a spot on the recent poll what makes you think its gonna win??

Mirrorline

Oh god I thought I deleted that as soon as it was posted. Clearly not fast enough. 🤣

Violet Evergarden is such a heartbreaking yet beautiful anime. The composer Evan Call is actually from California and works in Japan. He also composed the music for the anime film Josee, the Tiger and the Fish. Since I know you’re an Eve fan, both the insert and ending song were done by him which are worth checking out if you haven’t done so yet.

agreed. Its definitely the kind of show that youd come across on your own. But there are other reactors whove seen the show too already. which is nice. tony doesnt react much when it comes to sad stuff, you can use your lie in april as reference. I know it hit him, but off screen hahaha. Which is okay. But yeah Violet Evergarden is a definite gem to see. 🤧

Wouldn't it be cool if DRT took a vote on some classic hitter video game music to do, such as Legend of Zelda medley, Castlevania: Bloody Tears (a YouTube group with millions of views did an amazing version), epic Mass Effect 2&3, etc? I'm interested to know what the community thinks.

this is one of the most beautiful, sad and meaningful anime I have ever watched. I saw people that are not fans of anime love it.

A bit late but this anime is really worth the watch! Great story, and great soundtrack. I hope it's in a poll one day cause it'll have my vote 10/10 times.

Oh god, please do the entire OST I’m not even joking 😂

Man Evan call is such a master. This, Freiren, Josee, and more. Violet Evergarden is when he really hit his stride. The two albums for Violet Evergarden, the first for the anime show, and the other for the specials and movie, are a stand alone masterpiece. They require no context to enjoy. That said the show is my personal favorite anime of all time. Animated by Kyoto Animation (Kyoani) they’re masters of emotional animation. Obviously you just watched sound euphonium by them, they’ve also done classics like A Silent Voice and Chunibyo. Whether it’s Evan Call’s score, or Kyoani’s mastery of animating raw human emotion, Violet Evergarden is 100% worth the watch and listen.

This OST is absolutely godly. This show and its music helped me through a dark time in my life and it is my personal number 1 anime of all time. I remember one day laying on my bed and just going through different shows on Netflix when I came across it without knowing anything about the story. The animation looked pretty, so I decided to give it a chance and watch a few episodes. I was absolutely blown away from the very first episode and watched the entire anime in one sitting to the late hours of the night and afterwards, my pillow was completely soaked with all the tears I shed watching it. Never has a single show been able to punch me to the gut like this has. I heavily recommend watching it.
