Jet Man

There were just one too many absurdities in this episode. 💀 Hurts the suspension of disbelief. The ruse leading up to the gun being pointed at Light was gripping and I get why the story wanted to do that, but everything after the blank was fired was indeed stupid.

Yeah I mean the execution plan was kinda crazy watching as a viewer, but from L's perspective it was a way for him to see if 1) Light/Misa are indeed Kira/2nd Kira, and 2) How Kira may actually kill people, if Mr Yagami did in fact die. So yeah that part of the episode I did like for those reasons, but I can agree Light's total switch to agreeing is a bit strange here. And for the 2nd half, yeah having a 20 floor building(or how many floors) built and revealed so suddenly is definitely weird. I mean Watari isn't shown much so the possibility of Watari organizing it being built from L's orders is still possible, but it's crazy that it suddenly is revealed in one episode, without any hints prior. I can understand why when L was questioned he didn't want to reveal his methods in front of 2 people he thinks are Kira/2nd Kira, but yeah it would've been nice to hear his thoughts about building a skyscraper as a viewer of the show. Lastly, I just want to say, I've heard the anime and manga for Death Note do differ in some parts in the series, (mostly later on), but maybe more is revealed about L and who he is, and how he can just build skyscrapers suddenly in the manga earlier than it may/may not be hinted at later in the anime. But yeah I haven't read the manga for Death Note yet, so I don't know the differences.

There is an explanation for that, I'm not sureif it is mentioned in the anime but if you want to you can read up on L and Watari as I don't want to post spoilers here. The question is not how the skyscraper was possible, It is how it was needed, a few floors would have fulfilled the purpose the same way.

This all happens in the manga lol, no weird studio change situation. Death note is great, but it's also incredibly stupid at times so you gotta take the good with the bad. How dumb it is adds to its charm imo

The funny part of this is that this era of Anime was very stupid at times. If you consider the shows people think of as "classics" (Death Note, Code Geass, Future Diary etc) they are usually filled with strange fanservice and the occasional extremely dumb episode, I think it's just part of the charm of these type of shows IMO

Not much reason given to explain why its bad other than not liking the way Misa talks and the fact that they are moving to a large building? Misa being a liability is purposeful, it makes it tough on Light. The way the other characters react to her show the writer made her that way on purpose. Than it's dumb because, the super detective and police decided to move to a large building? This allows them to stop drawing different locations over and over, and more importantly gives a change of scenery to reflect the next stage of the story, reflecting (as you have now seen) the new Kira who is a white collar businessman. This is not bad writing, but certainly bad analysis of writing.

If you can't see how comically ridiculous the building was and just auto to "well your analysis is bad" like bro lighten up 🚩🤣

ya man this was what I was feeling when I watched the first time. It was hard to maintain interest after misa episodes started.
