Important contextual note is that a "god" in asian culture is very different from the western "God." A "god" in asian culture often time refers to a spiritual entity of varying levels of strength/power. So for example you could have many gods of death. There's a lot more variety, it's not so much about being almighty or having omnipotence, but more often dominion over a certain concept or thing.
